I was going to get on here and share with you about my weekend and how beautiful the weather was … but I felt the Lord, on this Monday morning, wanted me to share the following with you, instead! I’ll catch you all up on the last couple of days later, but for now … He wants to teach us of His immeasurable LOVE!
THE DIMENSIONS OF GOD’S LOVE
When I am in the middle of a difficult time, I may not feel loved by God. That’s because my entire perspective is warped. The circumstances are so close to me that they seem to tower above God’s love and block it from my vision. But that doesn’t change the reality that God’s love abounds all around me. It reaches far above. It transcends time past, and time to come.
The LORD is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love ….
For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is His love for those who fear him ….
From everlasting to everlasting
the LORD’S love is with those who fear him.
Psalm 103:8, 11, 17
Look at the dimensions of God’s love ~ “high as the heavens” and “from everlasting to everlasting”! Anyone who ever saw Mount St. Helens in Washington before 1980, would have said it looked massive and permanent. Yet on May 18 of that year, the top 2,300 feet of the mountain disappeared within minutes. The blast area of the volcano covered an area of more than 150 square miles and sent thousands of tons of ash into the upper atmosphere. What looked so permanent, was forever changed. God tells us in His Word:
“Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed,
yet my unfailing love for you will NOT be shaken
nor my covenant of peace be removed,”
says the LORD, who has compassion on you.”
Isaiah 54:10
Every earthquake that shakes our lives, every volcano that wreaks destruction is a reminder that while nothing in this life is everlasting, God’s love for us is! Yes, everything that looks so permanent in your life may be forever changed … but God’s love for you will never change.
We tend to judge God’s love by the human love we know. When the people who should love us let us down and fail us, we fear God will do the same thing, especially when we know that at times we are pretty unlovable. But God’s love isn’t like human love. His love for us never fails. We need to hold on to the truth of God’s Word ~ what God tells us about His love.
The apostle Paul prayed for believers who were going through hard times, “That you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge.” {Ephesians 3:17-19}
I’m not quite sure how you can know something that surpasses knowledge, but I think Paul meant that no matter how deep we probe God’s love, we will never reach the end of it. We can investigate it, delve into its depths, and explore its reach … but we will never, never, come to the end of God’s love. Paul wrote:
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life,
neither angels nor demons,
neither the present nor the future,
nor any powers, neither height nor depth,
nor anything else in all creation,
will be able to separate us from the love of God
that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8:38-39
So what does that mean in my life…in your life? It means I can judge my circumstances by what I know to be true about God, instead of judging God by my circumstances! It means I can truly rest in His love for me! I can close my eyes, lean back, and know that though everything I count on in life may fail, God’s love will always catch me!
Dear LORD,
Thank you for blessing us with Your love that is so infinite, and eternal. Help us to be rooted, grounded, and established in that Love. Help us to grab hold of You, and come to the knowledge of how wide, how long, and how deep Your love truly is for each one of us, and that nothing will ever, ever separate us from it! Help us to share that same gift of love with others who you bring across our path. In Jesus’ Precious Name, Amen.

:sunny:Loved this post and it’s so true. But God’s unconditional love is
always there nomatter what.
ryc: The reason I don’t mind if anyone comes to my site is because I want to spread
God’s word, it may just be in the day to day conversation, or a bible verse that is posted.
Something small may stand out, I remember about a year ago I had a young man that stopped
by my old site and he would leave the same comment…”Drop it like its hot” ok, now I don’t
have any idea what that means…!??? But, he came by everyday…and because it wasn’t a bad
word I left it at that. Now I could go to his site but you couldn’t comment he wanted an email
and so I passed on that and felt that God was working somehow for this young man. My first
site was hacked and I haven’t seen him anymore…but you never know? So, I will leave mine open
to begin with but if it gets to be reckless I will go protected. I hope it doesn’t. Yes, we will still get
to block and if you already have everyone blockout unless their your friend then you will not have
anything to worry about…I just wished they would quit tweaking for awhile..UGH!
I am so glad that Ian wil be home Thursday as I know you are…I can somehow feel the excitement
in your comments…lols. I know he will have so much to share with you all. I pray he has a safe flight
home and that you will be comforted that God will make sure of that!
Thanks for your comment on my site and for your sweet prayers going up for Debbies little granddaughter.
I pray that God takes hold of her and gives her total body healing in Jesus name!
Have a great Tuesday evening my friend.

Have a blessed day!
Hugs, Connie
Great post as always!! I keep forgetting to answer your question about the music on my site, I took it off, sometimes my site would have problems loading with the music player on it. I need to find a Xanga site that gives music to add to your site, not from some outside source. Also, not all seaweed has dead stuff in or around it, sometimes it’s just garbage too. Snails get caught up in the seaweed and when it comes ashore, the seagulls go nuts over eating the snails as well as the sand crabs..lol :giggle: Have a great Tuesday!
Wonderful news regarding your son! Although it is hard to let them go, we can rejoice that God is using them! Our youngest really felt God was leading her to become a part of Metro Ministries in NYC. (You can Google them to learn more of their wonderful work in the ghettos.) The week she left to do her internship there, Bill Wilson, the head of the organization, was mugged and shot. We couldn’t help but think, “What are we sending our baby into?” Well, she has worked there for 3 years now, and has grown so much! She has also met the man of her dreams, and he is an amazing guy! Like you mentioned, we give them to God, and we have to trust that He is more than able to take care of them. Blessings! :heartbeat:
A wonderful post……thanks for sharing your thoughts. How much more peace we have when we measure our circumstances by what we know to be true about God rather than judging God by our circumstances. Gwen
I just love the top of your page. I really do! It’s so hard not to get caught up in everyday things, and so easy to forget God. Thanks for the reminder.
Thanks for voting!! We really appreciate it!
Beauitful post: It makes you just realize how much he loves us :sunny:
Love Pattie :heartbeat::heartbeat::heartbeat:
I love the picture of Ian from the shore…how beautiful it looks there…just a beautiful day.
I also want to thank you for your post….it’s a perfect piece for where things are and where I am …. reminded yet again to just look at Him and do not get caught up in the circumstances of life…not a one of them is beyond God and through it all…His perfect love shines through to permeate every nook and cranny. it is in that love, if I choose to abide, that life really becomes life and peace and joy may abound. Praise the Lord-!
Love, Natalie
:sunny:Amen! Good Morning! Great post and I hope you have a Marvelous Monday!…….In Christ’s Love…..Monic:heartbeat::love:
Wonderful post, my friend! There is nothing like the wonderful peace and security that comes with knowing we are loved by God! I love Jeremiah 31:3 which says He loves us with an everlasting love! I pray you have a wonderful week!
