flowerfaceThought I’d share a bit of humor with you on this Wednesday … we all need a smile every now and then … but first … I hope you’re all having a great week … it’s been a quiet one for me thus far.  I’ve still been having trouble with our Internet server taking me off and online every hour!  Hopefully, they’ll get it fixed soon!  We had a great time at church on Sunday, watching all the children in the play … it had a Patriotic theme with different stories about the history of our country … the costumes were great, and they all did a wonderful job.  I’m hoping what pictures I took turn out … the lighting was low, and I’ve still got to learn how to adjust it on the camera.  There’s so much to learn!  I had better get busy … some friends of ours have a daughter who is getting married on July 12th, and we’ll be going … I’ll be taking some camera blue flash  pictures for them.  It’s going to be downtown in the State House … a beautiful historical building, and I hear the lighting is great there!  I wonder what the colors will be … hmmm, red, white, and blue?!  No one knows … and I’m excited!  I love weddings, whatever color they are!

So, what are your plans for
    flag blowing Independence Day

We’ve been invited over to some friend’s house for food, fun, and fellowship … there’s also a possibility that we may go to the lake, and get on their pontoon boat to watch the town fireworks over the lake.  They have a festival every year on the 4th, and we’ve never been to that one, and it might be nice to go out on a  boat
boat … it’s been a long time!  My brothers both had them when I was in my early 20′s, and we always had fun during the summer together.  But, they say there is a chance of  13351c1f0 rain on Friday … and, if that’s the case, it’ll be an indoor event at their house.  So far this week, the weather has been beautiful here …  sunny, Animated Sun little breezy, mid 70′s.  We’re hoping it’ll stay this way for a few days!

We’ll miss Ian this weekend.  This was always his favorite time of year … being as it’s also his birthday month!   The wedding we’re going to, also falls on his birthday!   I’ll miss baking that red, white & blue cake that he always loved, but we’ll be sending him some goodies, and celebrating long distance.  It just won’t be the same, though.  Well, I hope you all have some fun things planned for the holiday weekend.  Do share!  Now … back to that bit of humor I mentioned earlier!

Animated Flower Rotating A newly converted hippie was very, interestedly, reading the Bible while waiting for transportation, and every now and then he would loudly exclaim, “Alleluia … Praise the Lord … Amen”, and on and on, as he read.

A skeptic, standing nearby, heard him, and being a bit annoyed, he came to ask him what he was reading that had him so excited.

The hippie answered, ”I am reading here in the Bible, how God parted the Red Sea to let the Israelites go through on dry land – that is a miracle!”

The skeptic, being the skeptic that he was, proceeded to explain, “Do not believe everything the Bible tells you.  The truth of the matter is, that that body of water was really only 6 inches deep – so, it was NOT a miracle.”

The hippie nodded in disappointment, but turned back to his Bible and kept on reading as the skeptic was walking away feeling quite proud that he had set the hippie straight.

All of a sudden the skeptic heard the hippie let out a very loud, “Woo-hoo! Alleluia, Praise The Lord!!”.

At this the skeptic turned, went back to him, and asked, “What is it THIS time?”

The hippie said excitedly in one breath ….

“This one IS a real miracle … God drowned the whole Egyptian army in only 6 inches of water!!!”

    Hi my sweet friend.

That was funny…..takes the “child”in us to really get blessed doesn’t it?……we are going to our county faire tomorrow…should be a blast….we go every year…Amy has a friend this year that is in the 4H for sheep..so she will be with her and her animals….

It has been hot here….close to 90……:wha:…and there is a new fire….not next to us…..thankfully….ok time for some lunch….blessings to you my friend

  • What a cheery post! We are celebrating with a  picnic at a band concert and fireworks with my parents and in-laws.  It will be great weather and lots of fun!

  • Recently I found a tapestry sort of thing with that verse on it that I had made for my grandma back when I was in college. I loved that verse way back then and still do.

  • HAhaha! Funny joke. :)

About the 4th, we don’t celebrate. Papa will be working. He took Monday off instead. If we enjoy any fireworks, it will be the silent fireflies. One somehow got in my bedroom last night. That was interesting.

We know someone getting married on the 12th, but we will be busy celebrating our 10th year together out of town.

  • No definite plans for the 4th yet.  Isaac doesn’t “do” fireworks anymore.  Too much flashing is not good for seizures.  BUT when he was little, he LOVED the “boom-booms” as we called them.  He liked the noise more than the light!

Pontoon boats are my favorite!  My hubby’s uncle had one a long time ago.  We spent the most glorious day in Celina, OH on this beautiful man-made lake.  It was the perfect day! :coolman:  I hope you have a wonderful day, whatever you decide to do.

  • Cute hippie joke!  Blessings on your day ~

  • You sound bright and happy today! :sunny:

We’ll be spending some family time together this weekend. We are really looking forward to it. We’ll be strawberry and raspberry picking, going to a barbecue, seeing fireworks at a working Colonial farm, visiting a zoo and I don’t know what else, but I know it will be fun. :spinning:

  • :sunny:Good Morning Sweet Deborah!………We will be staying home. We have invited friends over to do some BB-qing and watching our neighbors put on their show that they do every year. We have 3 families that  go in together and buy fireworks. They put on a show bigger than the city!………And they are really good about cleaning-up their messes, too. Today is my Friday! And than I am off for 9 Days! First vacation out of 5 wks for this year. And I plan on organizing the basement, working on my tan and diet! Ha!These last 2 days I have been at work until 6:30p.m. 12 to 13 hours is way too long for me. I suppose today will be just as long!Holiday weeks we are always the busiest!Especially in the Summer! Cups and more cup orders arriving for the stores. Well Hope you have a Wonderful Wednesday and enjoy the Beautiful weather! (((((((((HUGS)))))))))……….In Christ’s Love……Monic:heartbeat::love::heartbeat::wave:

  • Are you staying up too late again, my dear?   We really have no plans for the 4th since it isn’t a holiday in Denmark. We will think of all of you celebrating on that side of the pond. :fun: I hope you all have a wonderful time with good weather. I am sure the fireworks over the water would be beautiful to see. ~~  I really loved that joke! Thanks for the chuckles. ~~ I know you are missing your boy. Please wish him a happy birthday from an old lady over in Denmark! ~~ I am already doing a count down because our youngest daughter and her husband will be coming over in September! ~~ It’s a quiet morning here with some sunshine,  :sunny: which bodes well for going out to take some pictures this afternoon. I hope the clouds don’t roll in before then! ~~ I hope you are fast asleep now, and that your Wednesday is blessed. Hugs!

quote and verse

Faith expects from God what is beyond all expectation.
- Andrew Murray -

God often comes to us,
not in dramatic and the spectacular,
but in quiet, unexpected ways ...
In a still, small voice,
a gentle whisper,
God makes known His love.

In quietness and trust
is your strength.
Isaiah 30:15

Pleasure, possessions, power, and privilege are ultimately worthless in comparison to the indescribable
joy of knowing GOD!!

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him,
and He shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5,6

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go:
I will guide thee with mine eye.
