  • ~Grace to Get Through~
    By James MacDonald
Sig Tag Animated Just Hang On Raggedy
“God is able to make all grace abound toward you.”
    —2 Corinthians 9:8

Think back to a time when you were in a difficult place. (Maybe you’re in one now.) Were you surprised by the peace and comfort that was yours in Christ?  When people around you were going under, by some miracle God held you together.

I know where your strength came from: Grace—God’s favor for His own.  Grace is what God gives to get us through. Doctors give prescriptions so we can get well, employers give paychecks so we can get current, teachers give lessons so we can get smart, and God gives grace so we can get through.  If you don’t have the grace, you’re just not making it.

The New Testament has much to say about grace.  Ephesians 2:8 says that we’re saved by grace.  Titus 2:11 says that saving grace has appeared to all.  God’s grace is enough for us, says 2 Corinthians 12:9.  Second Corinthians 6:1 says that we shouldn’t even try to live apart from the grace He’s given us.  Hebrews 12:15 warns that if we fall short of the grace of God—if, as we go through a hard time, we don’t draw down upon the grace of God—then bitterness will surface and defile us.  First Corinthians 16:23, as well as many other New Testament closing passages, gives a final blast of encouragement by reminding us about “the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ that is with us all.”

No doubt about it, there is a sustaining, nourishing, feeding, get-you-through-the-thing-you’re-going-through grace that God would give to every person reading this.

You flat out can’t get through life without it.  If you’re trying to get along on your own, you’ve got a big problem on your hands.  Without God’s grace, we can’t be saved.  Without His grace, we can’t grow.  Without His grace, we won’t be sustained through the trials in life.  Do you have the grace?

    Blinkie Christian Sweet Grace

The grace of God is the source and storehouse of all that we need, not only to get through life, but to prosper in an ever-increasing fruitful, faithful walk with Christ.  God’s supply is unlimited and available upon request.  All you have to do is ask.

Hope you’re all having a blessed early Springtime!  Finally saw our resident robin, if I hadn’t mentioned that before!  The guys are back at work, finally, on a very big job, which was such a blessing for them to get, although, it is a difficult one, and going to take a couple of weeks, maybe even longer, to finish, so please keep them in your prayers for strength and endurance….they are already showing signs of tiredness, and fatigue, working the long hours!  One good thing, my son’s tailbone seems to be doing better, and we are happy about that!

It’s a beautiful evening here in the neighborhood….so I thought I’d share this teaching on God’s sweet grace!  A friend of mine shared this site with me, and it’s a gentle reminder of the unmerited favor that He so lovingly bestows on His own!!  God seems to delight in doing impossible things…when we’re hanging by a thread, as Raggedy Ann is up there, and when we’re at the end of our strength, well, He’s only begun!  We can face any trial without fear of defeat…this is our hope and assurance of that…with God at our side the battle is already won!

I’m also praying for you all to have a blessed weekend, and especially for all the gals/guys at the Heart Beat conference in Texas!  I’m hearing that the weather there is ferocious today, so I’m keeping that in my prayers, as well, for your safe travels!  I know you’re all going to be abundantly blessed, there will be showers of blessings, and God is going to be in the midst of it all!  I’ll be anxious to see all the posts on how blessed everyone was!  This one’s for all you Heart Beaters out there!  Love ya!!

    Art Good Morning

    Blinkie Spring Has Sprung 3

Good Morning Ya’ll….well, I am starting this in the morning, but there have been a few interruptions, so by the time it actually gets posted, it may be afternoon!  Has that ever happened to any of you???!!  Neverless, it’s a beautiful day, a bit overcast, but the birds are singing, and you can see the buds on the limbs of the trees starting to reawaken!  Rejoice and be glad, for this is the day that the LORD has made!

    Blinkie Feed The Birds

I asked my hubby to get some bird food on his way home from his prison ministry later on.  We have a feeder just outside our kitchen window…….and our cat, “the Moosh”, is sitting patiently in the window waiting for his spring time visitors!  So am I!!

    Bar School buzybee

Well, today, I’m resting my weary, tired feet!  Yep, with Spring, comes home school convention time around here, and there’s lots of walkin’ goin’ on!  We only did a one day exhibit hall pass yesterday….now that we are “retired” home school parents, we don’t see that need to attend all of the seminars that are offered!  Besides, as long as we’ve been going, we’ve just about seen ‘em all!!  Oh, that’s not to say that we still couldn’t glean new wisdom for these changing times that we are living in, {and boy have there been changes since we first started going!}  We just aren’t in that mode any longer around here…our boy is grown, but, when I’m blessed to have grandchildren someday, I’m sure we’ll pass along all the information that we’ve learned to his family!!  I must say, that I did see some new things I wished they’d had back when I was in the mode!!  So many things are done on the computer now, almost everything!  But, as for me, I still hold to the traditional way of home schooling ….using those items we often remember as paper, pens, pencils, erasers, “ageless” Crayola crayons, scissors, and glue…Elmer’s, wasn’t it???!!
Well, now, we have an “Endangered Supply List”….

Tiny tag Fruit Apple SmallWho needs paper ~ we have Word Pad
Tiny tag Fruit Apple SmallPencils and pens ~ throw out those sharpeners!!
….we now have what are commonly called “keys”
Tiny tag Fruit Apple SmallErasers ~ well, we all know there’s a simpler less “crumby” method that’s called “Delete”
Tiny tag Fruit Apple SmallCrayons ~ we now have Paint Shop, and they have more colors then Crayola ever did!!
Tiny tag Fruit Apple SmallAnd finally, as for the scissors and the Elmer’s Glue
….now you can even “cut and paste” on a computer to get the same effect!
Tiny tag Fruit Apple Small If anyone can think of any more….just “key” ’em in!!

My, oh my, how things have changed!!  Yes, yes, I know times are achangin’ and there is need for all that now, but I must say that I was blessed enough to live in a time when we didn’t even have a computer in our home, we had no desire for one, nope, not a bit….but, we did finally break down in ’99…and now, well, I really wouldn’t want to be without it!  Oh, I could live without it, but I sure would miss doing this…and using it for business has sure been convenient!!  But ya know, it would help the cause for that “Endangered Supply List”!  Right!!

    Children

My son, is working with the Children’s International Conference there this weekend!  He is filming the whole thing, and I’m pretty proud of him!  He’s doing a great job!  He and his friend have stayed here for 2 nights, and when they got home yesterday, they were exhausted!  Ian’s feet hurt so bad….I told him I knew the feeling!  There are about 500 children and 100, or so, volunteers!  A good crowd, but boy are they ever busy!  He was gone to his friends house on an overnighter from Tuesday until Thursday, and I haven’t really gotten to see him much , but he did say his tailbone was feeling much better, although a twinge of pain every now and then, but better!  He’ll be resting the remainder of the weekend, then possibly to work on Monday…the work he does could injure it more, but he’s gonna give it a go!  Praise God for the healing He’s done so far!  Thank you for your prayers when I posted earlier about it!  You can be sure that God hears, and acts!

    Blinkie Friends Are Special People

We also got to see our friends, that we always run into each year, some of which we see throughout the year, but it’s always good to catch up!  I found out a friend  of mine, Dianna, is expecting their 7th, after 9 years!!  Say a prayer that all goes well with her pregnancy, and delivery!  They have the Nature’s Workshop Plus booth…you may have seen them if you’ve attended any of the conventions.  She’s due in August, and their business is blooming as well!  They have a wonderful web site where you can get to know the whole family!  They carry some great home school supplies, especially for nature lovers!  You can even get frogs, worms, etc., to dissect right in your own home….how’s that for table talk!!  And if you’d like to join the conversation, you can check out their great web site < here!

    Blinkie Frogs

And, “The Country Baker”, Denise, is another friend, usually at the conventions…..we always stop by {she gets soap from me then}, and we buy the most awesome peanut butter cookies from her every year!  Her son makes them now, and I’ll print the recipe below, for you all to enjoy…they are “healthy”…and she said they do not cause any problems with your blood sugar, for those of you who might have that problem, like me!  You can also check out her other great recipes, and how-to bread making tips, here on their beautiful web site!  I’ve used her products, and made her home made bread recipes, and they are yummy!!

Okay, that’s enough advertising!  I hope you all have a wonderful Spring weekend!  I know many are getting ready for the Heart Beat Conference, and my prayers will go with you all!  Those of you not going…let’s keep on praying for the blessings to fall on everyone there…that they go with an open heart, asking, seeking, knocking, persistantly desiring to be in His presence, and to be filled to overflowing with His mighty love!

Oh, and do enjoy this recipe….I’m eating one now!!
    Hugs and blessings to all!!

~ Family of 9 Loses Dad:
Young father dies suddenly — wife, new baby, seven other kids must go it alone. ~

WAKEFIELD — Having eight children has taught Kim Hermonat to take things — both good and bad — as they come, which has proven invaluable since her husband, Bill, died due to an aneurysm less than two weeks ago.

Kim said her faith in God and her large family gave her the strength to make it through the difficult times, which began four days before her husband’s 38th birthday.

While Bill’s sudden death left her without her friend, business partner and husband, Kim, who on Thursday gave birth to the couple’s eighth child, Ryder, places her faith firmly in God and knows her family needs her more than ever.

“I can’t imagine what God has in store for me down the road,” Kim said, adding she will miss Bill’s banter as they watch “Star Trek,” his math and engineering skills, his help in the afternoon with the children and his friendship — but said she gains strength knowing he is still watching over them.

“You’ve got to be strong for your kids,” Kim said on Monday as William Jr., 11, Spencer, 10, Connor, 8, Quin, 7, Annika, 5, Ian, 3, Hanson, 22 months and newborn Ryder were keeping busy with games, suffering from the sniffles, making hearts and flowers out of pipe cleaners, enjoying snacks and taking naps at their Lovell Heights Road home in Sanbornville.

Kim said she is tired because Ryder, who is only 5 days old, does not allow her to sleep for very long, but she knows he will eventually grow out of that phase.

Even with help from friends, who have provided “an amazing support group,” Kim said the daily routine of dressing, feeding, educating and raising such a large family is a blessing since it does not allow her the time nor the luxury of having too much time to ask questions regarding her husband’s death.
“It was just his time,” Kim said, adding his death strengthened her faith, especially seeing how many people were touched by Bill’s life.

About 300 area residents attended the funeral services on March 13 at Nute Ridge Bible Chapel in Milton, she said.

“His passion was people,” Kim said. “It mattered more to him that people were being taken care of.”

Kim said she’s slightly comforted by the fact Bill was an organ donor, which allowed him to help others in need. She added the four-day process of finding recipients also allowed her, the family and their friends ample time to say goodbye.

Since then, Kim has had to take on the role of being the sole provider for the family.

She said she will continue working on the medical transcription business the family began at their home.

“He had a great vision,” Kim said, adding Bill designed his own software, which can be leased out to other companies, and created another business to design websites. “I hope to build on what he started. It’s going to take a little bit longer without him, though.”
Kim said the family’s needs have not changed since Bill’s death. Since they were self-employed and home-school their children, they have no health or life insurance, she said, adding they also need a 10-passenger van to replace their smaller eight-person one.

“We made sacrifices to be home with our kids,” Kim said, adding the choices they made may have not been the best financially, “but my kids have had a gift — they’ve had their mom and their dad 24-7.”

Kim said they chose to home-school the children because it was easier than moving them between home and school, especially as the family kept expanding, which is the same reason they stopped attending services at Grace Community Church in Rochester.

    Photo You are the Potter

    Today God says:
“I will continue the work I’ve begun in your life.”

    He promises me:
“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in
    you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”  {Phil. 1:6}

    My response to the Word:
God is the Potter; I am the clay.
He is shaping me and molding me after His will.
I will let the Lord have His way in my life throughout this day
as I wait before Him, yielded and still.
    The Word of God proclaims,
    “But now, O LORD, thou art our father;
    we are the clay, and thou our potter;
and we all are the work of thy hand.”
    {Isaiah 64:8}
I will remember the truth of this prophetic prayer today.

    My prayer:
Father, thank you for being the Potter in my life.
Continue your workmanship so that I can truly become more like Jesus.
Have your own way in my life.  I willingly surrender myself to you.
Mold me and shape me according to your will and your good pleasure.

    Today’s Scriptures:
    “For we are his workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus unto good works,
which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
    {Ephesians 2:10}

“For it is God which worketh in you both to will
and to do of his good pleasure.”

  •     Animated Good Day Greeting

Thank you all, for sending prayers on behalf of Kim Hermanot, and her children!  I do know that a Xanga site is being set up and I will post it, as soon as it’s up and running, so you can visit her, and the children, with words of comfort during this time of need.  God is raining grace down on them, and so many are reaching out meeting their spiritual and physical needs!  Again, bless you, and thank you all!

Sig Tag Praying Friends Make A Difference

Today was beautiful here in Indy!  We finished up our antique/craft show, and have a few days break before we head out to do another 3 day show this next weekend!  So, I’ll be busy getting ready for that one this week, but I’ll check in, visit, and post as much as I can.

Well, our time changed, and we lost that hour, at 2:30AM yesterday morning…..right now it’s normally 12:33AM, not 1:33AM, so I am up late, and wanted to make this quick post before trying to catch up on that hour of sleep that I lost last night!  So, what do you all think of the time changes?  Does this happen in all parts of the country, or are we the only fortunate ones here in Indiana!?!  I heard that the reason why our local government decided to put us on DST, was to save energy!  Well, a local university did some research, when this began 4 months ago, to see if we really were saving energy…..guess what?!!  Absolutely NO energy was being saved, anywhere!  It really only caused us to use more energy, when we all had to run around and change all those clocks to reflect the hour difference!!  Oh well….I won’t complain, but when it’s dark during the time your getting up, it is really hard to crawl out from under those covers, isn’t it?!!  Moving on……..

Our show was a bit slow, probably due to the beautiful weather we had this weekend!  That’s just the risk you take doing this sort of thing!  But I love selling soap, and especially meeting people, no matter how slow it is!  Just gives me more time to talk with people!  Work, for my husband, is still pretty slow, so, any show we do is a blessing!  God is providing, as He always has!  My son’s tailbone is still very sore, and doesn’t seem to be getting any better.  We are taking him back to the doctor for more x-rays tomorrow {Monday} afternoon, to determine where the actual break is.  We would appreciate your prayers for a total and complete healing for him!

I pray that all of you have a beautiful, blessed with the BEST, Monday!!
I’ll be around to visit, and post again, soon!

    Hugs,

  • PRAYER REQUEST……COMFORT NEEDED HERE!

     Poppy

I’m sending out a much urgent prayer request for a special family, Bill & Kim Hermonat.  They go to church with Sarah — you can find her here at ~ ForGod4Country  .  {Sarah was one of my first friends here on Xanga through my son’s site}.  This family has 7 children, with one on the way.  Bill was experiencing some odd symptoms, and went to the hospital, I believe it was just yesterday.  He was found to have a brain blood clot.  They inserted stints to relieve the pressure, and that seemed to stabalize him, but he went into a coma, with no brain activity!  Prayer has been going up from all over the country, but we just got word that he has now gone home to be with the Lord.  Please pray for Kim, her pregnancy, and those precious children!  As of this time, they do not know yet!!  Please pass the word for this prayer need!  You can go to Sarah’s site, and find out more, and to give a much needed word of comfort that she can pass along to Kim and the children!

    “Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble,

    Finally
       Animated Soap Word Updated !!
    Hi, Everyone!!

Wow, I’m sitting here, with my window open, in 30 some degree weather,
and I absolutely love this cool breeze!  Winter seems to be hanging on for a bit longer!
We had a snow squall this morning, and it was beautiful!  I’m going to enjoy it while I can,
being the “winter girl” that I am, for soon the hot days of summer will be upon us!

Thank you, to the ones who’ve left such sweet comments on my last post since I’ve been AWOL!!!
I’ve been very busy here at home doing some major, pre-spring purging, and cleaning!
I’m beginning to feel so much better physically, and spiritually,
since we began this long overdue monumental task!!
The mountains seem more like mole hills now!

    ….or if you prefer,

    Blinkie Domestic Goddess

We’d been idle in that area far too long, and we found out this last week,
that an electrician was coming to install smoke alarms in our
2 bedrooms, kitchen, basement, and in the hallway!

    Blinkie MrBlinkie Arrgghh

So we thought we’d better start getting things in order around here before they came!
Wouldn’t want them tripping over my mess!!
Well, they came and did a wonderful job!
If you’ve ever had workmen in your home, it can be messy, depending on what they’re doing!
We had a gas line leak in our front yard, and the 2 guys that were digging,
had to come in to check the thermostat, which was in our hallway……
and when they came in, they brought the “dug-mud” in with them!
    But not these electricians!
No…they even took off their shoes, laid down tarps,
and cleaned up any tiny speck that was left on the carpeting!

They were very nice, and personable, as well.
My husband had a lot in common with the one we knew to be the “boss”!!

I was a bit nervous before they had arrived,
wondering what all they had to do….it went well, until, at one point,
when they had to get into the attic, and couldn’t get in through the garage,
    as we had thought….

Animated Houston We Have A Problem

they asked us if there was another access….
well, I really didn’t want to say….because, it was in our closet!
A teeny, tiny square hole….and with all those clothes I had yet to go through in it,
how in the world would they get in there?!!
I asked them how they could fit up there,
and the “boss” just smiled, nodded, and pointed to his “helper”…..
who was very thin…and looking from the ”helper”, back to the hole again,
we realized that the “boss” was right!
So we piled, and piled, all of our clothes from the closet onto our bed….
they were in, up, wired, and out, in all of 1/2 hour!
    Great work guys!
      Smilie Hands Clapping
    { Too bad I couldn’t hire them to put all those clothes back in the closet!! }
We took their card, and are definitely going to recommend them highly…..
    It’s a father–son business….
we gave them a “10″ for superb service,
    pleasant personality,
and for putting up with all our mess during our purging!

My hubby is doing his prison ministry tonight…my son is here at home,
and really couldn’t go!  He is still in pain with his broken tailbone!

    Blinkie Ouchie!

He ices it continually, and not being able to sit normally in a chair for very long,
he lays on the couch most of the time…when he’s at the computer, he’s on his knees, literally!
If he goes anywhere, he can’t sit for long, so he’s up walking around alot!
He couldn’t go to the prison ministry because they have no where to walk around in the back of the room…
they place the chairs all around the walls of the room.
So, he’s really missing going to that!
The doctor said there isn’t anything we can really do for it except what he is already doing.
So we would really appreciate your continued prayers!
If you’d want to cheer him up with an encouraging word,
you can visit him here on Xanga!

     Well, it’s almost showtime!!
We have antique/craft shows on the second, and third, weekend of March,
then the fourth weekend is our state homeschool convention,
and I may possibly squeeze in a school craft show that same weekend,
and finally, the fifth weekend, we have a show in Kentucky.
I haven’t decided whether or not I’ll be going to that one, but my hubby, and son will be going….
he can walk around there, so it won’t be too uncomfortable for him.
Needless to say, it’s going to be a busy month!
I’ve enjoyed having all this time off, doing the things I’ve needed to do around here,
and just having some “winter vacation” time!!
The busy show season is fast approaching,
and I want to get all of our work around home here finished before the rush begins!

I know I also have to do some changing here on my blog….
    retiring the winter blinkies,  ,
    changing out the valentine theme…..

    { although, I love these falling hearts, and love IS  everlasting, right?!! }

…..and making it look more like spring around here!
I’m also wanting to try some new things….
and hopefully learning well enough to add to my site!
So many out there are really creative!
Thanks for the tips that some of you have already given me!!

I’m going to work on my site, do some visiting out there,

quote and verse

Faith expects from God what is beyond all expectation.
- Andrew Murray -

God often comes to us,
not in dramatic and the spectacular,
but in quiet, unexpected ways ...
In a still, small voice,
a gentle whisper,
God makes known His love.

In quietness and trust
is your strength.
Isaiah 30:15

Pleasure, possessions, power, and privilege are ultimately worthless in comparison to the indescribable
joy of knowing GOD!!

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him,
and He shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5,6

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go:
I will guide thee with mine eye.
Psalm 32:8
