“The LORD repay your work, and a full reward be given you by the LORD God of Israel,
under whose wings you have come for refuge.”
{Ruth 2:12
God uses the term “wings” to help us understand more fully what it means to have His presence throughout our day,
and His covering over us moment by moment. The Bible speaks about the wings of a mother hen, the wings of an eagle, and the wings (or fringes) of a garment, and applies them to the ways God is working in our lives and watching over us. God’s wings apply to His care, His protection, His health for us, His safety, and His strength. As your covering:
God’s wings shield you and cast a shadow over you.
His shadow is like the welcomed relief provided by a shade tree on a hot summer’s day.
God’s wings shade you from the damaging rays of adversity and from the heat of every trial and calamity. As an expression of His care:
God’s wings draw you close to His heart.
In his care He knows your every movement,
senses your every need,
hears your every cry,
and feels your everyheartbeat. As an expression of His protection:
God’s wings shield you from the searching eye of every prey
that seeks to devour or destroy you.
He is your protector against every scheme of the enemy,
against every life and deception, against every luring temptation,
and against every enticement that would try to move you away from His heart. As an expression of His health:
God’s wings are an extension of His tender compassion.
His purpose is to keep you healthy and strong, well fed and nurtured,vibrant and full of life.
When you are weak or ill, He wraps his wings around you as a mother would wrap her child in a blanket.
He assures you of His love, draws you close, keeps you warm, feeds you with the food of His faithfulness,
renews your vitality, and causes you to grow strong.
“But to you who fear My name the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings,” says Malachi 4:2 As an expression of His strength:
God’s wings carry you to new heights, to new adventures of faith, to new discoveries of His majesty,
and to new vistas of grace that your heart can explore and delight in.
Today you are under God’s extreme watch-care.
He you to draw near and trust fully in the covering of His wings.
You are the LORD’s delight and the apple of His eye.
Today is your best day because you life couldn’t be in better hands or under better care!
We need to trust in the shadow of His wings!
Dear LORD,
I thank you that I am under your ever watchful care.
Thank you for hiding me under the shadow of Your wings.
For it is there, under Your covering, that I find …
Your care,
Your protection,
Your health for me … both physical and spiritual,
and Your strength!
I praise You, and I recognize that every good thing I have
has been given to my by You as a sign of Your goodness,
mercy, and love. { James 1:17}
Thank you for being my Provider, my Protector, and above all my Father!
“…they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.”
{Psalm 34:10 KJV}

~ 91 ~ |
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High
shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, [He is] my refuge and my fortress:
my God; in him will I trust.
Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler,
[and] from the noisome pestilence.
He shall cover thee with his feathers,
and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth [shall be thy] shield and buckler.
Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night;
[nor] for the arrow [that] flieth by day;
[Nor] for the pestilence [that] walketh in darkness;
[nor] for the destruction [that] wasteth at noonday.
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand;
[but] it shall not come nigh thee.
Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold
and see the reward of the wicked.
Because thou hast made the LORD, [which is] my refuge,
[even] the most High, thy habitation;
There shall no evil befall thee,
neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
For he shall give his angels charge over thee,
to keep thee in all thy ways.
They shall bear thee up in [their] hands,
lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder:
the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
Because he hath set his love upon me,
therefore will I deliver him:
I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
He shall call upon me, and I will answer him:
I [will be] with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
With long life will I satisfy him,
and shew him my salvation.
