“I am come that they might have life,
and that they might have it more abundantly.”
    John 10:10
    {KJV}

God does not promise abundance.  He promises that we “might have life” and that we
“might have it more abundantly” if we accept His grace, His blessings, and His Son.
When we commit our hearts and our days to the One who created us,
we experience spiritual abundance through the grace and sacrifice of His Son, Jesus.
But when we focus our thoughts and energies not upon God’s perfect will for our lives
but instead upon our own unending assortments of earthly needs and desires,
we inevitably forfeit the spiritual abundance that might otherwise be ours.

Today and every day, seek God’s will for your life and follow hard after it.
Today, turn your worries and your concerns over to your Heavenly Father.
Today, seek God’s wisdom, follow His commandments, trust His judgment, and honor His Son.
When you do, spiritual abundance will be yours, not just for this day but for all eternity.

If we were given all we wanted here, our hearts would settle for this world rather than the next.

“And God is able to make all grace abound to you,
so that always having all sufficiency in everything,
you may have an abundance for every good deed.”
    II Corinthians 9:8

    Dear Lord,
I praise You for the abundant life that is mine through Christ Jesus.
Guide me according to Your will, and help me to be a worthy servant in all that I say and do.
Give me courage, Lord, to claim the rewards You have promised,
and when I do, let the glory be Yours.
    ~ Amen

  • RYC: speaking of cameras….mine is on the fritz again. It’s a Samsung digital and I’m not happy with it AT ALL and even less happy with the service on the darn thing!  I have an OLD Minolta, hand wind, hand load…that takes wonderful pictures…however there is no zoom and I have to wait to get film developed…which is a bummer…..So I’m on the look out for a new one…..

    Have a great week!!

  • :sunny: Hi Deborah!! Just passing through making my rounds commenting! I loved the scriptures and thank you for sharing them! I hope you are enjoying your weekend! Lots of love and hugs!!

  • Love the background!  Wherever did you find it?  Oh boy, that sentence was so dutchified,oh well.

  • Thanks for the comment!  Summer does indeed happen, and happen quickly!  I welcome it with open arms though!  Up here, it doesn’t last too long.

It MUST be difficult to miss your guys, though I can see God is truly giving you grace!  Sorry things aren’t quite working out the way they’d hoped but I guess God has better ideas…that’s cool they are going to be doing missions trips!

  • :sunny:Oh your site is lovely and I so enjoy coming here. I haven’t been on very much just a lot going on here.
I so appreciate your comments to me, I feel a sweet connection with you. I hope all is well in your little corner
of the world. Ian & Lewis ok? I’m sure they are. How is the house hunting going? And did you all find a place
for Lewis’s parents, I hope I got that right…ugh? Anyway I appreciate your prayers and your concern for us so
thoughtful. I hope you have a great weekend.

    God bless,

    HuGs,

  • God does give us abundance, I am so sorry that some only think of abundance in the form of possessions and money.

  • RYC: It’s interesting that you should mention the idea of a book to me! Are you prophetic? I have actually written four books, but finding the money for publishing fees is the problem. I was offered a deal with Creation House for one of my books, (a devotional for parents) but because I would be a “first time author” they require that you sign a contract agreeing to invest a certain percentage into the project, and on our missionary budget, we just can’t do that. Even self publishing is a not within our ability at this time. My husband keeps telling me to be patient— that in God’s time, He will make a way. That’s hard for me, but I am trying! I am glad I have Xanga as an outlet for my writing. At least it is getting out there and blessing people, right? I will keep trying to be patient about a book. :sunny: Have a great weekend. :heartbeat:

  • Hi again
RYC: When I read your comment I took a closer look at my pics and realized that the dates were messed up…they were taken THIS summer, just over a week ago…LOL.
I pray you have a blessed weekend Deborah.

  • But when we focus our thoughts and energies not upon God’s perfect will for our lives
but instead upon our own unending assortments of earthly needs and desires,
we inevitably forfeit the spiritual abundance that might otherwise be ours.”  This is SO true!  And echoes my heart’s cries lately.  Another thing that goes along with this, is basically, pretty much, focus on the present, the past and the future can be more than God wants us to focus on at the present.  Of course there are times to do both, but most often, God wants us to commit our works to him now, so He can establish our thoughts!  Thank you, once again, I was blessed and encouraged by your post!

Also, as far as Curve’s goes:  It is for women only.  So your dh may have a difficult time getting in there with you!!! :)   Some of those women get pretty fiesty when they see a man wanting to join them!!! LOL

quote and verse

Faith expects from God what is beyond all expectation.
- Andrew Murray -

God often comes to us,
not in dramatic and the spectacular,
but in quiet, unexpected ways ...
In a still, small voice,
a gentle whisper,
God makes known His love.

In quietness and trust
is your strength.
Isaiah 30:15

Pleasure, possessions, power, and privilege are ultimately worthless in comparison to the indescribable
joy of knowing GOD!!

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him,
and He shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5,6

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go:
I will guide thee with mine eye.
