Oh, my! I think it’s about time I move from Christmas, and winter, into spring, and sunshine, flowers, and birds, etc., don’t you?! It’s been awhile since I’ve been here to update, so …. here goes! I’ve sure missed being here, and, I pray you’re all doing well! I can’t wait to get around and see how you’ve all been! Let’s see, where to begin … we’ve been blessed in that neither hubby, or myself, have been sick this winter! We are so thankful for that! There’s been so much sickness around us, and I do think our daily doses of Vitamin D, C, and Zinc really helped! We’ve been eating better lately, too, and I’ve been exercising, walking 2 to 3 miles a day, working up to 5. Now, if I can only get hubby to tag along! Actually, it’s an in-home walking program … especially since we had all that snow, I figured it was the best way to get started! I use the ‘Walk Away the Pounds’ tapes, with Leslie Sansone, and those are some major workouts when I add the weights, I tell ya! I have been feeling a bit better, though, and that’s a good thing! Every little bit helps when you get up in your ….. well, when you get older! LoL!
Well, it’s certainly been a long winter, hasn’t it?! I’ve enjoyed the snow, though, and, I’m going to miss it, but it’ll be nice to have some warmer weather, too! Some family news … Mom Betty, and O.P. are doing pretty good. Their oldest daughter recently came for a visit, which really cheered them up. Our son, Ian, hasn’t made it back for a visit since January, ’09 … far too long, and we’re missing him more and more … but God has used this time apart to grow us all, over the past, almost, 3 years! He knows best .. yes, God knows what will bring us closer to Himself … and this certainly has! Hopefully, we’ll see Ian soon, though! And, remember Tim … his best friend who originally went out to California with him? Well, he’s in Haiti right now, doing some work there! We’re anxious to hear what exactly he did do, once he gets home! He’s keeping us somewhat updated over on his Facebook page.
I’m happy to say that work has been steady for hubby through the winter months, even with all the snow. Normally, it’s a very slow time, but, God has been His usual, faithful self, and provided the work … even on those real snowy days! So, how was your winter? Did you get snow, a little, a lot, or none?! It’s been cool and rainy, here, the past few days … I’m ready for some nice warm sunshine, blue skies, birds singing, green grass ….. I think the first day of spring is coming soon, too. It’s always close when we have our time change (spring forward) which was this past Saturday night. Unfortunately, we lost an hour of sleep, but gained an hour of light! I still wonder why they need to do that, though! I’m still adjusting to that lost hour! =
We also got …. ‘the envelope’!! Have you?! Ours came today … I was wondering why they had to send a letter ahead of time, letting us know it would be coming mid-March. A waste of money, I would think! I have heard there is a long form that some homes would be receiving, so I did some research, and I’ve read … ”the ACS (American Community Survey) will replace the long form in 2010 and thereafter, by collecting long-form-type information throughout the decade, rather than only once every 10 years.” Hmmm! How often?! I do remember getting the short form for the last census, and it was simple. Now, they say, the questions are getting more intrusive, and personal! So, have you gotten your ‘envelope’ yet? Long, or short?! What are your thoughts on all this new information they want to collect this year? Well, that’s enough about that … it’s a late night, and I’m off to bed … we had a show this past weekend, and with the time change, I’m still trying to catch up! I’ll share more soon, but tomorrow, I’m going to start some visiting around here, to see what you’ve all been doing … in the meantime, have a blessed week … I hope you all have some pretty spring weather, too!
When we recognize God’s grace,
earthly values dim.

Thank you for your caring comment!
We never,or almost never, have snow in Hong Kong. But I really like the snow scenes in photos or movies.I also realise how much the weather has changed.
We have the household survey(census) here too and we get selected. We’ve yet to see what the questions are like.
Blessings!
I miss you on Xanga, my friend. How are you?
Hey hun just wanted to say I am lifting you in prayer. Sorry to hear that things have been hard for you the last while. {{{{hugs}}}}} If you need someone to talk to I am here for you. I will even phone you if you ‘d like. Love you and miss you!
Hi Deborah!! Thanks so much for the comment and for thinking of me.
I’m still around, but as you can see just have not had the gumption to post anything.
If you would keep in your prayers Pastor Predestin (in Haiti) – my dad got an email the other day in which the van they were using for the orphans (they have 4 houses) was stolen at gunpoint. They used this van to get food/supplies for the orphans. I’m so glad your son’s friend was able to go and help. That’s really encouraging to me. We were able to send some water purifiers for them, which are really being used a lot. They sure are going to need a lot of help with rebuilding.
It seems the Lord is really trying to get our attention with all the weather- and earth-related incidents, huh? It’s awesome to think that even with all of man’s technology, He is still in control!
:sunny:Hi Deb,
Looks so springy here…good to see you updated but…it’s now April??? Just kidding I see yah on FB all the time. Well was just going down my list & dropped by hugs sweet friend:heartbeat:.
Hey friend, where are ya hiding at? Come on out and play!
I hope you’re doing well …
Agreed on the letter ahead of time to let you know you were getting a letter and also on top of that, the ad that cost who knows how many millions during the Super Bowl to let you know that you were getting it. Wasteful, for sure!
Have a nice night and I hope you come back soon.
Just want you to know that I miss you here on Xanga!
{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}
Good seeing your post.
I am glad you all stayed healthy, we’ve been up and down with colds, but nothing that has knocked us on our backs yet.
We got the short form and my husband filled it out already. We are to obey the authorities, so we do it, even though we might want to be ornery about the whole thing. It does bother me that they ask if we are white or not. What does skin color matter? And yes, that letter was such a waste of money!
It’s nice to see you back on Xanga. We have made it through the Winter! YAY!
I am looking forward to sunshine, too. Because we still own our home in the U.S. and pay taxes there, I guess we will be getting one of those envelopes, too. Our daughter and her husband live in our house and pay the bills, though. It will be a challenge to explain all that to the IRS, etc. I am sure! ~~ I am glad you are all well. Hope you get to see Ian before too much longer. My sweet little grandson will be one at the end of this month! Oh! I miss him! I got to talk to both my girls yesterday — one in N.Ireland and one in NY state. We have no plans to see them, though. The offerings to our ministry that we live on have taken a significant loss, so we are not able to afford any travel. We are not sure how all this work out, as what we lost is what we needed for the rent. We know God has a way, though. He is faithful. We know that. ~~ I am still waiting for the ultrasound appointment. The date I was given is not until August! The pain seems to be better for a while, and then I over do, and it comes back strong. I am so weary of it. I wish I could just find out WHAT is WRONG and HOW to fix it! ~~ Things with the ministry are going very well. We have formed an organization for our outreach to Romania. We are collecting goods — used clothing, blankets, baby things and other supplies — for out next trip over. We have contacts among the poor folks in the mountains who are in desperate need of help. Our Bible school is growing, and we are having new visitors to church nearly every week. It’s exciting! We know we are where we are supposed to be, and we know God will take care of us. OK! That’s enough of my blab for now! :p
I filled out our census form today… it did seem like a huge waste of money to get that letter saying the census form would be coming in a week!
Hi! Nice to visit with you on here! The sun is out today after a horrendous week of storms so it feels good. My husband was hired for four weeks by the Census people. He is in training and says to encourage everyone that they are confidential and are severely instructed that no Census worker is permitted to divulge information about any people they come into contact with..not even to other government agencies. I know some people are worried about the information they want. It is only to allocate funds for your areas for schools, police, and representation in congress, etc. It is in your best interest to let them count you.
I know you like snow but hope you are enjoying the spring too!
Hi Deborah So glad to here you are both doing good. We have been having spring like weather here too. So nice!
We just got the letter so far. We are doing good too. Nice to hear form you! Hugs! :heartbeat:Sharon
Always love hearing from you! I have been remiss with my posting on Xanga too, even though I love it and enjoy reading posts here much more than blurbs on Facebook. I admit, however, I am hooked on Farmville and love playing it. I love connecting with others there too, but nothing replaces Xanga for me. I pray you have a blessed week IN HIM. Love u, Jill
Hey hun, so good to see you around again. So many Xangans have gone on over to Facebook where posts can be short and sweet and left Xanga behind.
I just haven’t been able to get into Facebook all that much. Play here and there but that is about it.
Winter here was amazing since we basically had no snow. Maybe 7 days at the most which is soooooooooooo unsual for here. I got my first ever green Christmas and was praising the Lord all day for the best Christmas present. LOL
I have so missed you around here. Any chance you may pop in more? Bats eyes with puppy dogs eyes. Eh?
{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}} my friend
Love you
