Well, I see that it’s still pretty quiet around the new and ‘not-so-improved’ Xanga …
it doesn’t look like too many on my subscription list have found their way here yet.
I’ve clicked on ‘Following’ on my dashboard, and it took me to the subscription list.
I went through and clicked on each site, and most of the time it took me directly to the main Xanga page
that says this ………….
We’ve saved your blog archives for you!
Read below for details on how to retrieve your data.
How to retrieve your data
We’ve saved an archive of all of your blog posts!
There are two ways to retrieve your data.
You can either:
- Sign into Xanga and download the archive (for free, of course) from the link at the top of your dashboard, or
- Upgrade to Xanga 2.0 and we will upgrade your blog to the new servers using the data in the backup.
……………………………………………………
Then the other sites I went to … they were there, up and running.
I’m still confused, and still learning to navigate my way around here … I sure hope you’re all doing better than I am!!
I must admit, I do miss our ‘old’ home … it’s here that I have to say, not all change is good!
This is basically a stripped down version of the WordPress format …
I do have another site over on the full version of WordPress with the same name ‘threads of faith’.
I got that one started in order to get ahead of this ‘move’, but you’ll see I haven’t done much there either,
although I have noticed there are quite a few features missing from this format compared to that one.
So what are you thoughts on this ‘new’ Xanga so far?
Now, can anyone help?!
I’m wondering how we can see our account information, as we were able to do on the old Xanga site.
You could see when, and how, you paid for Premium as well as the renewal date.
I’m actually amazed I’ve still been able to sign on here … I didn’t think I had that much time left on my Premium account.
I wonder how they let you know this if there isn’t any account information page? Email?
I do need to find out though, so I can pay when the time for my upgrade comes …
I do not want this to disappear when my time is up!
And, I haven’t a clue as to where I can find that information!
I would so appreciate any help on this!
I also have another prayer request … this time for my dear husband …
we found out he may have a heart arrhythmia.
His heart will skip a beat here and there, and he gets very tired easily.
He’s had this in the past, and they found out it was caused by his adrenal glands and thyroid.
Once they got those two things back in good working order, he was feeling better than he ever had.
I’m praying for a repeat performance and that he will feel better than normal again, soon!
We are going to the doctor this coming Friday morning, and we would so appreciate your prayers!
Thank you all so much, and I’ll keep you posted!
I hope you all have a blessed Thursday!
- Debi xoxo

What awesome picture of your man!
I just realized how to get to this separate ‘comment’ page, and found all of my comments, Carolyn! lol! So I’m going to be sending lots of replies, now! lol!! And thank you for this sweet comment on the photo of my hubby!
don’t know what are how to get on this new xanga can’t even see my site
i have a xanga account but i’m the same as you.. can’t figure a thing out!
i’m going to still blog where i am but i’d like to use xanga to keep up w/ the bloggers still here – i’m sure the kinks will get worked out eventually.. it’s just so hard to learn a new system.
i hope your husband is doing ok. i know any kind of health issues are scary and we hate seeing those we love go through any discomfort~
wishing you a happy week ahead!! xo
I have NO idea how to do this new site. I can read others’ post, but have no idea how to write my own. Can’t find the place to do it. And don’t know how to get my old posts on my page (which I cannot find). It’s frustrating, so I haven’t been here much at all. Did you pay to keep your site?
Chris, I’m not sure if you will see this, but about my site here … I know my subscription has to be up by now … when they switched it, I still had time left, so I’m not sure what will happen to ‘threads of faith’ when it is finally up! I don’t know where to ‘pay’ for it when that does happen! Can you see your site at all? It sounds like you’re on the ‘Reading’ page where you can read posts. Along the left side there’s a list … click ‘Dashboard’ and see if that takes you to the page where you can write a post. Let me know if you can get that far … you can also message me on Facebook, too. Anyway, I just saw your comment. I haven’t been on in few weeks, and I need to update about my husband. I am so sorry to hear about your dear dad!! You are in my thoughts and prayers, my friend!! It’s been 3 years now since we lost Mom Betty and O.P.. We still miss them so much but we know we will see them both again … I’m so looking forward to seeing all of our loved ones again!! Know that you and your family will be in my prayers, Chris! Blessings to you! ((Hugs))
Not sure if you’ll see this Chris, or if you saw the last comment I left you, but I have a new blog home … I can’t get to yours here on Xanga either. When I click on your name it takes me to the page on Xanga about getting your files from them! I’m replying to you from the comment page on my site, so I do hope you get this! I really miss the ‘old’ Xanga, but things are forever changing, aren’t they! Hope you’re doing well!! Want you to know you’ve been in my prayers! I hope you’ll be blogging again, too … come visit me and see what you think! I’d love it if you’d follow me on WordPress! I have a few of the old Xanga crowd following me now, and I sure hope to see you soon, too!!

I tend to agree with fwren in hoping the XangaTeam will hurry with some fixes — and with you that this seems like a stripped-down WP. I am here — I have a WP account which I have never used (and hope not to have to use. One site is enough for me. It’s a struggle — not the upgrade we were all hoping for!
Yes, I agree with fwren as well, and those ‘fixes’ would certainly be nice … the sooner the better! Nevertheless; I am glad to see that you’re here now too, Janet, but as I said I’m hoping that I don’t disappear once my premium account has expired! Thanks so much for dropping by! You have a blessed day!
did he go off something? or what?
sorry non of my business. I’m a retired nurse so I’m noisy.
I will pray that all goes well for your hubby-hey, I’m lost on Xanga 2.0 but I am here for others if they need an ear or shoulder to lean on-cause I know how much it means to me. jill
Jill, thank you for stopping over, and I don’t mind your asking at all!!
He hasn’t been on anything for the irregular heartbeat for quite awhile … as I shared above in my post, he’s had it before and got some thyroid supplements that worked great and ‘fixed’ it! He had the blood tests this past Friday, and this coming Tuesday he is going back for about 5 more tests … we’ll know more then. Thank you so much for your prayers, your ear, and your shoulder, Jill!! I may have some medical questions for you after Tuesday since you’re familiar with these things. I’ll message you on Facebook if I do. You have a blessed week! -debi
I have not seen any account info as yet ~ I expect when it is important, they will let you know one way or another. I also think they will be adding features as they go along ~ they made the transfer as quickly as they could with the intention of adding things later, I think. Hope they hurry with some things ~
Thank you, fwren! I do hope things get somewhat back to ‘the way things were’… and sooner would certainly be better! Still haven’t found out how to extend my Premium account yet, either. Was catching up with your trip out west, too … love all your photos! You have a wonderful week! Blessings ~
I will pray for your husband. I like the picture of him. Heart arrythmias are no fun!
I don’t like or understand the new Xanga either.
