  • signs of spring … could it be?!

it’s been awhile since i’ve been here again, hasn’t it!
well, i haven’t forgotten about my little corner of the web and my friends here …
just hasn’t been much to blog about these days, but i will share a quick update …

have to say, and i’m not complaining mind you, but winter has about worn out it’s welcome around here … still, i love the cold weather! how’s the weather where you are?
if any of you had a lot of that snow i would have loved to have joined you.
seems we haven’t had that much snow here. we did get a dusting,
along with the ice storm that worked it’s way across the country night before last, and it’s still pretty chilly …

but, today, the sun is shining, temperatures are rising, and the icicles are melting …
now that’s a good sign that maybe, just maybe, spring is comin’ to call!

hasn’t been much going on around here since we stopped selling soap and coins.
normally we would be so busy this time of year and i do miss those days!
for now, we’re enjoying taking one day at a time,
seeking His face daily for the strength that never fails when those struggles cross our path …
we’re working at growing closer to the One Who is forever able!

We’re finding that His love never fails, never gives up, and never runs out on us!
honestly, i just don’t know how anyone could live without Him with so much going on in this world today … but, we know He reigns and is in total control of it all! there’s no place i’d rather be than in the center of His will right now! we don’t know exactly what the future holds, but we can be sure of Who holds that future!

things with our son and his wife seem to be getting better … still they struggle.
she is working at a local clothing store on the weekends and going to beauty school
during the weekdays learning about hair, nails, and make-up.
she’s really doing well, passing her tests, and enjoying it a lot!
ian works with his dad in the flooring business, but his heart is with his new video business.
he’s hard at work, growing it every chance he gets, and working on his own projects.
he’s anxious to be out of the flooring business and onto what he truly loves to do.
hubby and me … well, they know we’re here for them, prayers and all!

looks like i need to seriously be thinking about some ‘seasonal’ changes around here,
with spring on the way, and all. i’ll reach back into my folders and see what theme i can come up with,
so i’ll be around doing that, and i want to do some overdue visiting, as well!
some of you may have forgotten all about me … i sure hope not, but i hope to find some of you still here!

now, here’s a little bit of ‘spring’ that i hope brightens your day,
and i hope y’all have a very blessed Sunday!

now back to a nice cup of cocoa … and the ironing! :)

     Hugs,
                 Deborah <><

yep, just gotta have a little …

that spring is on the way!

  • I love the music here. Who is it?

  • @JusticeMom - Oops … well, looks like I missed this comment earlier in March, Carolyn! I just commented on your latest post, too! So good to see you here, and you say you are retiring after this school year?! That’s wonderful! Have ideas about what you’ll be doing with all that extra time … oh I’m sure you’ve already figured out! It will be good to see you over here more, too!

Yes, all our snow has melted … now, today, Easter Sunday, it feels like spring has finally sprung, but we’ll see. It’ll be cool this week too … a slow warm-up, but I don’t mind it at all! And no, that embroidery in those pictures is not mine … pretty isn’t it! Saw this in Nashville, Indiana, set up on a porch of a sweet little shop! I used to do cross stitch, but haven’t picked up a needle in a few years … I do have one I’ve started on that you reminded me of, though! I should do that!! You have a blessed week, and I hope to see you here again soon!

  • Good afternoon, Debi! You made it back here to Xanga before I did, but I am going to try to make it a priority to come over here each week (at least), to check on my friends. I looked to see when the last time I had blogged … it was in July of last year! I was surprised that it had been so long. I don’t know how often I will blog … especially before school’s out, but I did update last night. Yea me! I’m with you re: winter … ready to call it Spring! And maybe we’re here now; once this last snow melts away; after all today was the change: Spring forward! Looking forward to good times keeping up again more, especially after I retire after this school year. Take care, and God bless you and your foursome. Love, Carolyn (P.S. – Is the embroidery in those pictures your own work? Nice!)

  • Good to see you on here i do stop by on xanga to see what all going on and post some too i like face bood but there something a xanga that i still love.

I too have had enough of winter this year i must say i have never mined a winter like i did this year i think with out working anymore and missing my Mom has made this winter much harder to get through

Think of you often, keep in touch when you can

  • @buana -  Hi Jill … so glad to see you here on Xanga, too!! :) I heard FL was pretty warm the past couple of days!! I can’t imagine 86* right now … I don’t like to sweat either! Hope you get those cooler days, too … I’ve heard we may get more snow this week too … yay! :coolman: You have a blessed week, my friend! :heartbeat:

  • @Mymanyblessings -  :heartbeat: Glad you stopped by, too!! Message me about Bob when you get a chance … let me know how things went! (((Hugs)))

  • @DanishDoll - Oh my friend, it’s so very good to hear from you, and I do hope you get that spring weather soon! Glad to hear that the cold has kept a lot of the sickness from you both, though! We’ve done pretty well in that department here ourselves! Our winter hasn’t been real dark here, but we’ve sure had our days of gray! Haven’t had enough snow here either, in my opinion, but we may be getting more this week! I think most places in this world are having record ‘somethings’ going on … I just pray our spring won’t be too fierce!! You have a blessed week, and Mae, I will be messaging you here very soon!! I know I’ve not been faithful in doing that and I am sorry! Wouldn’t blame you if you gave up on me!! Sometimes … well most of the time, I think how much easier it would be to call you!! Blessings to you my friend!! (((Hugs))) :heartbeat:

  • Come on spring!!!!

  • Hi Deb,

Thanks for stopping by….I know all to well what it’s like to come up with something to say lol. I am hoping for Spring but not looking forward to HOT weather at all :( ….Love the music here….see you over on Facebook :) .

    Hugs……(((Squeeze)))

  • I also want this Winter to be OVER! This is the coldest, snowy-est Winter we have had in the 12 years we have lived in Denmark. Winters here are always dark, and I am just ready to enjoy some sun and to not have to wear a coat, hat, scarf, mittens and all that. One good thing about it being colder this Winter is that it seems to have kept some of the sickness at bay. See? I am trying to look for the good in it! It is nice dropping by and reading your post. Blessings to you!

  • I love seeing you on Facebook, but for me, nothing is like reading a post here on Xanga. So glad to hear all is well. Our weather has been crazy . Last Sunday, the temps didn’t even reach 60 degrees and today it’ll be up in the 80′s …I was just outside throwing a ball with our Golden Retriever and I was sweating..yech :) . Next weekend it’ll be cold again and I am so looking forward to it! Many blessings to you my friend!

quote and verse

Faith expects from God what is beyond all expectation.
- Andrew Murray -

God often comes to us,
not in dramatic and the spectacular,
but in quiet, unexpected ways ...
In a still, small voice,
a gentle whisper,
God makes known His love.

In quietness and trust
is your strength.
Isaiah 30:15

Pleasure, possessions, power, and privilege are ultimately worthless in comparison to the indescribable
joy of knowing GOD!!

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him,
and He shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5,6

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go:
I will guide thee with mine eye.
Psalm 32:8
