~ PRAYING THE SCRIPTURES ~
Psalm 139
-Of David-
O Lord, You have searched me and You know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
You perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
You are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue
You know it completely, O Lord.
You hem me in – behind and before;
You have laid Your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.
Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Where can I flee from Your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, You are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, You are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there Your hand will guide me,
Your right hand will hold me fast.
If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,”
even the darkness will not be dark to You;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to You.
For You created my inmost being;
You knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from You
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
Your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in Your book
before one of them came to be.
How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand.
When I awake,
I am still with You.
If only You would slay the wicked, O God!
Away from me, you bloodthirsty men!
They speak of You with evil intent;
Your adversaries misuse Your name.
Do I not hate those who hate You, O Lord,
and abhor those who rise up against You?
I have nothing but hatred for them;
I count them my enemies.
Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.
~ Amen ~
Have a blessed Friday, y’all!
I’ll be around to visit as soon as
I dispose of some ‘dust bunnies’!!
Hugs,

~ ENERGY FROM ABOVE ~
“I can do all things through Christ,
which stengtheneth me.”
Philippians 4:13 {KJV}
All of us have moments when we feel drained.
All of us suffer through difficult days, trying times, and perplexing periods of our lives.
Thankfully, God stands ready and willing to give us comfort and strength,
…if we turn to Him.Burning the candle at both ends is tempting but potentially destructive.
Instead, we should place first things first
by saying no to the things that we simply don’t have the time or energy to do.
As we establish our priorities, we should turn to God and His Holy Word for guidance.
If you’re a woman with too many demands and too few hours in which to meet them, don’t fret.
Instead, focus upon God and upon His love for you.
Then, ask Him for the wisdom to prioritize your life and the strength to fulfill your responsibilities.
God will give you the energy to do the most important things on today’s to-do list … if you ask Him.
So … just ask Him!Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow;
it empties today of its strength.
Corrie ten Boom
We are never stronger than the moment
we admit we are weak.
Beth Moore
Where there is much prayer, there will be much of the Spirit:
where there is much of the Spirit, there will be ever-increasing power.
Andrew Murray
The LORD is the strength of my life.
Psalm 27:1 {KJV}
Dear LORD,
Let me find my strength in You.
When I am weary, give me rest.
When I feel overwhelmed, let me look to You for my priorities.
Let Your power be my power, LORD,
and let Your way be my way, today and forever.
~ Amen

Here are a few photos from the Lunar Eclipse that happened
on Tuesday morning from about 4:30am to 6:00am our time!
It was a beautiful, cool, clear morning … we sat in the driveway facing west …
had the camera, with our cups of hot tea in hand …
and the sounds of the early morning crickets serenading us!
I took quite a few photos, but they didn’t all come out,
and the ones below certainly aren’t the best …
I found that out when I was told by my son that I had it on the wrong setting!
(
Oh well, I’m still leaning … and trying to teach myself all about this camera!
I do enjoy it though, and I’m looking forward to being able to use it to it’s full potential!
So, for anyone who missed it, here’s a little bit of what it looked like … from our point of view!!
Have a Thankful Thursday … and
Hugs,

What a blessing this weekend has been! I’ve had a wonderful 3 days of selling those ’bubbles’, and I want to thank you all so much for your comments, and your prayers! God heard, and answered! It did catch up with me today, though, and I’m feeling a bit tired, so I’ve mostly just been resting, and doing some visiting here in Xanga Land…or shall we call it Xangaville, or maybe even Xanga Town?!! Xanga Town kind of has a ring to it don’t ya think! We ought to take a vote on it! Okay, just vote on your comment!
A. Xanga Land
B. Xangaville
C. Xanga Town
D. Boy, can you tell I’m tired! Lol!!
Now, I hava a little something exciting to share. Well, at least some valuable information that you might want to keep handy! Have you ever had to call a company, any company for any reason, only to get those lovely ‘non-human’ recordings, then having to sit and wait, and wait, until you finally get to where you’re needing to be, and still there’s no real person to talk to? Do you ever get frustrated and just want to hang up and forget about it all? Well, I have the answer! My sweet brother sent me a link that has just about every number and technique to use to by-pass those lovely ‘non-human’ recordings and will get you to a real human voice! Let me know if this helps any of you! I’ve used it a few times, and it works for those companies that I’ve had to call! And, of course, it’s called, ‘Get Human’!
http://www.gethuman.com/us/
I hope you’ve all had a great weekend! Did anyone see, or are you going to see the total lunar eclipse? It hasn’t happened here yet, and I’m hoping to get up in a little while to see it! I’d like to get some photos of it, too! This one is to last about an hour and a half! Ian and I saw one a while back, and we were fascinated! It was really beautiful! I hope I can wake up in time!
And speaking of pictures, I have a photo hanging in BetsaflyGallery again this week! The theme is ‘Hills & Mountains’, and you’ll find many beautiful photos of them there! And, if any of you have a picture of either of those, you can e-mail it to Vanessa and she’ll display it in the gallery for all to see! This one is not a contest…just a place to show others a favorite picture that you might have taken! You’ll find all the information you need to send a photo to her on the above link! Also, I was able to enter a photo in the contest at iliveinmycamera! I can’t tell you which one is mine, of course, that wouldn’t be fair to anyone, so go take a peek at the entries, and vote for your favorite!
Out of the mouth of babes….a little story I read today.A father wanted to read a magazine but was being tugged on by his little girl, Shelby. She wanted to know what the United States looked like. Finally, he tore a sheet out of his new magazine on which was printed the map of the country. Cutting out all of the states, he gave it to Shelby, and said,
“Go into the other room and see if you can put this together. This will show you our whole country today.” After a few minutes, Shelby returned and handed him the map correctly fitted together. The father was surprised and asked how she had finished so quickly.
“Oh, it was easy,” she said, “on the other side of the paper is a picture of Jesus. When I got all of Jesus back where He belonged, then our country just came together.”
The Lord is faithful and wanting to do a mighty work in each of us.
He is so patient and tenderhearted.
“It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:22-23)You all have a terrific Tuesday! I’m going out to see the moon before I go to sleep! The night is clear, and it’s bright and beautiful right now! I love nights like this!

~ THE TEA CUP ~
A couple vacationing in Europe went strolling down a little street and saw a quaint little gift shop with a beautiful teacup in the window. The lady collected teacups and she wanted this one for her collection, so she went inside to buy the teacup, and as the story goes the teacup spoke and said:
“I want you to know that I have not always looked like this. It took the process of pain to bring me to this point. You see, there was a time when I was just clay and the Master came and he pounded me and he squeezed me and he kneaded me and I screamed: “STOP THAT!”. But he just smiled and said, “Not yet”.
Then he took me and put me on the shelf and I went round and round and round and round … and while I was spinning and getting dizzier and dizzier, I screamed again and I said, “Please get me off this thing… please get me off!!!” And the Master was looking at me and he was smiling, as he said, “Not yet”.
Then he took me and walked toward the oven and shut the door and turned up the heat and I could see him through the window of the oven and it was getting hotter and hotter and I thought, “He’s going to burn me to death!”.
And I started pounding on the inside of the oven and I said, “Master, let me out, let me out, let me out!”, and I could see that he was smiling, as he said “Not yet”. Then he opened the door and I was fresh and free and he took me out of the oven and he put me on the table and then he got some paint and a paintbrush.
He started dabbing me and making swirls all over me and I started to gag and I said: “Master, stop it… stop it… stop it please… you’re making me gag”. He just smiled as he said “not yet”.
Then very gently he picked me up again and he started walking toward the oven and I said, “Master, NO!! Not again, pleeeease!!”. He opened the oven door and he slipped me inside and he shut the door and this time he turned the heat up twice as hot as before and I thought, “He’s going to kill me!!”, and I looked through the window of the oven and I started to pound on it, saying, “Master … Master, please let me out … please let me out … let me out!”.
I could see that he was smiling but I also noticed a tear trickle down his cheek as I watched him mouth the words, “Not yet!”
Just as I thought I was about to die, the door opened and he reached in ever so gently and took me out, fresh and free and he went and placed me on a high shelf and he said: “There, I have created what I intended. Would you like to see yourself?” I said, “Yes”. He handed me a mirror and I looked and I looked again and I said, “That’s not me, I’m just a lump of clay”.
He said, “Yes, that IS you, but it took the process of pain to bring you to this place. You see, had I not worked you when you were clay, then you would have dried up.
If I had not subjected you to the stress of the wheel you would have crumbled. If I had not put you into the heat of the oven you would have cracked. If I had not painted you, there would be no color in your life. But, it was the second oven that gave you the strength to endure. Now you are everything I intended you to be – from the beginning.” And I, the teacup, heard myself saying something I never thought I would hear myself saying, “Master, forgive me, I did not trust you. I thought you were going to harm me, I did not know you had a glorious future and a hope for me. I was too shortsighted, but I want to thank you.
I want to thank you for the suffering. I want to thank you for the process of pain. Here I am! I give you myself – fill me; pour from me, use me as you see fit. I really want to be a vessel that brings you glory within my life.”
“Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God,
that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.”
~ Hebrews 13:15 ~
“….my cup runneth over.”
Psalm 23:5
I love tea, and I love to collect teacups …
So, since the story today is about a ‘tea cup’,
I thought I’d share some photos of my collection with you.
These are 2 of the 11 Chintz teacups that I have been blessed with
over the years from my two special guys! Sometimes they are hard to find,
but mostly the ones they come across are at antique shops or even some
of the antiques shows that we set up at. I love having tea in them!
I have some friends whose young girls put on tea parties,
complete with beautiful tea cups, different types of tea, and crumpets!
We had some wonderful times together!
But, not wanting to be left out, and being a boy,
Ian would always want a ‘camping party’ complete
with ‘tin cups’ and ‘saucers’ …. the blue speckled ones!!
We’d have hot cocoa and marshmallows with
cinnamon-butter pumpkin bread on the side!!
Tomorrow afternoon, we do have a show starting,
and I’m going to be fairly busy getting ready to go in the morning.
It will be a long day, and I hope to check in here tomorrow night when I do get home,
all depending on how tuckered out I am!
Saturday is also a long day beginning with the show opening at 8:00am, and ending at 6:00pm..
and I’ll be able to check in again then! The prison ministry is also Saturday night for Lewis, at 7:00pm,
so he’ll be getting home much later than I will! But he is always blessed and God is moving on hearts there!
Sunday…is a shorter day, and the time to pack up, and move out!
You know, we have gotten older since we started this way back in 2000 … but
I’m thankful that I’ve gotten through most of this week doing those exercises!
I’m hoping I can squeeze in another 45 minutes before this day ends!
It really does make a difference in how a body feels!
I’ve also been able to speak with Ian a few times this week!
He’s been busy filming testimonials for the church,
and he’s even gotten to film a prominent chef in the Monterey Bay area.
Still don’t know all of the details on that … but I’m sure he got a few cooking tips from him!
And maybe a great gourmet meal!! We had talked about him going to the Culinary Arts Academy,
but he’s following a different path … and who knows, maybe working on this project, he may want to
give that a try someday! I don’t know where the Lord may be taking him, I just
pray that he stays on the path, and continues walking in His will for his life!
That’s the most we can hope and pray for, where our children are concerned!
Well, you all have a Thankful Thursday, and a Faith-filled Friday,
… have a cup of tea, and I’ll be checking in with you Saturday evening!
Hugs,
~ Deborah <><

The Day After A Very Rainy Monday … aka. a day late!
Hope you all had a great weekend! I’m a day late getting here, but I made it! We didn’t do alot this weekend. Hubby worked very hard this last week, so we mainly just stayed home so he could rest up. We are getting ready for a 3 day show this weekend, so we’ll be packin’ up soap, and coins, to head out Friday morning. It’s going to be a long weekend, and we want to be physically up to it, so the rest did us good! We did venture out to the chiropractor, then to eat dinner at Chili’s on Friday night, which was nice! While we were eating, we noticed that they’re building onto our area shopping mall … there’s going to be a huge Border’s Bookstore, and The Cheesecake Factory, along with some other neat little eateries, and upscale shops. Has anyone ever heard of, or eaten at, The Cheesecake Factory? We’ve had their cheesecake, and it is fantabulous! But of course, it isn’t so great for those of us who are trying to shed those pounds.
Speaking of which, I’ve had a good Monday, other than some bad weather that moved through our area … my neck is feeling better since Friday, so today, I did my 30 minutes of walking, and some weight training which I’m hoping will strengthen those neck muscles, as well! Pray that I keep this going … I feel so much better than I have been lately … just from this one day of exercise! I need to stay ‘consistent’ … same with reading the Word of God, and my devotion time! I spent some extra quality time in my devotions today, reading and praying, and I feel so much better and ’filled up’! And not being as ‘consistent’ with that as I should be, I was feeling spiritually dry … but, today, it ‘rained’ … I was totally refreshed in the water of the Word! I pray each one of you ’keep it going’, too, and stay refreshed with a continual infilling of His Word in your lives every day! If you’re feeling ‘parched’ … get in His presence, open His Word, and allow it to soak you all the way down to your ‘dry bones’! I read this devotion and it went right along with my day … I wanted to share it with you all, but first … have a tremendous Tuesday, ‘get soaked’, ‘de-parched’, { is that a word? } and ‘be revived’!! I’ll also be around to visit you more this week, and do some major catching up … hmmm, another place that needs more ‘consistency’ in my life!! Do any of you find yourselves having a problem with this, too?! :o)
Love & hugs,
~ Deborah <><
DRY BONES
Read: Ezekiel 37: 1 – 14
Are there times when you feel as though your life is like a bunch of dry, old bones? Do you feel you need the ‘breath’ of life to revive you?
Sometimes we may feel this way. We may get in a ‘spiritual rut’. Everything seems to be just mechanical – going through the motions of everyday life. We feel our lives are like these dry, old bones mentioned in this passage.
What do we do about it? How can we be revived again? The answer, I think, could be found in v.4. Ezekiel was told to prophesy to these bones and say, “0 you dry bones, hear the word of the Lord”.
Just sitting down each day skimming over the scriptures doesn’t do anything. We just walk away exactly the same. We need to allow God’s word to ‘soak’ us. We need to ‘meditate’ upon God’s word and open our hearts to receive a ‘word in season’. It’s this that can bring true revival to our otherwise ‘dried up, dreary lives’.
If we truly want to be ignited again, we need to allow the Lord to soak us with His word. He will breathe the ‘Breath and Spirit’ into our lives, and cause us to rise up and soar. He doesn’t want us to be in a spiritual rut – being at ground level pecking with the chickens, but to rise up and soar with the eagles. It’s your choice!
~ M.S.Lowndes
But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night. And he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper [and come to maturity]. ~ Psalm 1: 2-3O Lord I pray you’ll breathe in me
The breath that gives me life
I don’t want to remain dry and empty
But I long to be revived

The Lord Is My Shepherd
~ Author Unknown ~
One afternoon a mother with her children about her knees sat cracking nuts. The older children picked out the kernels for themselves, but the mother stopped now and then to pick out some for the smaller children, who watched with eager eyes and ate the kernels with keen relish. Presently, a nut fell to the floor. The smallest child picked it up; and as his mother went on cracking others, he held it up to her and in his baby language asked to have it cracked. He knew that there was something good inside of it. The shell was dry and hard. He might bite on it all he pleased, but the delicious kernel he could not get until the shell was broken. The Scriptures are just like that nut. If we wish to enjoy their richness and sweetness, we must, so to speak, get them cracked, and thus obtain the kernel, the inner hidden meaning, which will enrich the soul. But many are content to know so little what is really contained in the Word! How full of meaning, how rich, how wonderful, is a single expression! One single phrase may contain enough, if you get the “kernel” of it, to make your soul bubble over with joy all day. A single word may give you strength to fight victoriously through a sore conflict. The trouble is, people do not take the time to get an understanding. They are too ready to think that they cannot understand. Learn to take a sentence, a clause, or a word, and meditate on it. The more you think of it the longer you consider it, the richer and fuller it will become. To illustrate my meaning I will take a text familiar to all and try to show you what I mean by getting the kernel out. “The Lord is my shepherd.” I have often heard people quote this text when I knew it meant little to them. But suppose we study it a little and place emphasis on each part in turn. Every word has its “kernel” of meaning, every word is full of richness and soul-satisfaction, if we can but get it out.
“The Lord” — not just any Lord, for there are “lords many.” It signifies one definite, particular Lord; not one of a number of equal lords, but one standing out separate and distinct from all others — the one above all others. This is the Lord who is “my Shepherd.” When rightly considered, this one little common word as here used contains a world of meaning. We could profitably study it for hours. There is a whole sermon in it.
“The Lord is my Shepherd.” It is not a man nor even an angel who is my shepherd; it is the Lord, the almighty One –He who created all things, who stretched out the heavens, who upholds all by his might; the Lord who speaks and it is done; the Lord who wills and it comes to pass; the Lord unchangeable, unfailing, glorious in strength, perfect in wisdom and understanding. Baal is not my shepherd, but He who sits upon the throne of the heavens, whose face is as the lightning and whose words are as the rolling thunders, whose love is more tender than a mother’s, whose touch is as soft as the kiss of a sunbeam, whose eye is tender with pity, and whose heart is a fount of compassion — this is the Lord, my Shepherd.
”The Lord is my Shepherd.” Yes, he is. There was no questioning with the Psalmist; it was to him a positive reality. He did not doubt it in the least. He was as sure of it as he was of his own existence. But he was not any more sure than we can be. Repeat the text over a few times with strong emphasis on the “is.” This will help you get the kernel out of it. If you are a little doubtful, keep going over it until the “is” really means ‘is to you’.
”The Lord is my Shepherd.” Yes, he is my Shepherd. It is I for whom He is caring. It is I over whom He is watching. It is I who can safely trust Him. I may see Him looking with favor on others, helping, blessing, and strengthening them, but He is my Shepherd, so I may with confidence look for Him to give me the same kind of treatment that he gives the other sheep. The Shepherd has made promises. He is my Shepherd; therefore I belong to him and have all claims upon him that any sheep has.
”The Lord is my shepherd.” To others He may be a judge, austere and stern. Some see Him as a tyrant, some see Him as one to be feared, but He is my Shepherd. Being my Shepherd and the “Good Shepherd,” He will care for me. He will care for my safety. He will keep me in his fold from the ravenous beasts; He will protect me. Into pastures green he will lead me. By the still water I shall rest secure. He is “my Shepherd.” This brings out only to a small degree the richness of the text, but it illustrates the manner in which we should study the Scriptures if we are to get the “kernel;” but we should carefully avoid every tendency to read into any text what it does not teach. It is all right to read a chapter, or a number of chapters; but you will get more ‘soul food’ by taking a little and studying it well. Study each word carefully by itself and in relation to the other words of the sentence. Follow this method of study until it becomes a habit, and it will unlock to you rich storehouses of heavenly truth. Your soul will find a feast wherever you go in the Sacred Book. There is in every scripture a “kernel.” Do not be content until you get it out! -
~ Today is National Sandcastle Day ~
August 17
Have you ever built a sandcastle?
When Ian was little we had a sandbox,
and we’d put sand in those little round and square buckets then build our little sandcastles.
He loved that…so did I! He loved to build things!
I took a ceramics class in high school, and thought one day I’d get into making pottery for a living.
Not to be…but I love pottery!
We’ve also made those cinnamon ornaments at Christmas time….
and we had our fun with play-doh, and modeling clay!
Even got Ian the ‘Pottery Wheel’ where he could make his own pieces!
We also had Lincoln Logs, and Leggos from which we built many forts and villages!
Well, back to Sandcastle Day! Here are some beautiful pictures of ‘sand art’, and of course these are not our own pictures, we are far from the ocean … but Ian isn’t so, at the bottom is Ian on the sand!
Do you have any plans for the weekend? First today…has this ever happened to you…
you stretch and something happens to your neck, and you’re unable to turn your head without pain?
Well, I did that this morning, and now I’m off to my trusted chiropractor to fix me up!
Then hubby is taking me to dinner after that.
We’re also hoping to go back to the fair again tomorrow!
It’s actually supposed to be in the upper 50′s here in the morning!
We’ll all enjoy that after the string of very warm weather we’ve had!
Well, whatever your plans are…enjoy, and maybe even build a sandcastle this weekend!
Hugs,
~ Deborah <:))))><
For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully [and] wonderfully made:
marvellous [are] thy works; and [that] my soul knoweth right well.
My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret,
[and] curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect;
and in thy book all [my members] were written,
[which] in continuance were fashioned, when [as yet there was] none of them.
How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
[If] I should count them, they are more in number than the sand:
when I awake, I am still with thee.
Psalm 139: 13 – 18

This man is known as “Amazing Walter”.
He sculpts many of these ‘masterpieces’!
Yep, below is a ‘sand-outhouse’!
Well, at least it’s built on ‘rock’!

I love this picture!
There is history that goes with this cross…
Spanish explorers ran out of supplies & had to go back to Spain …
the cross was to serve two purposes …
to bless the land and to mark where they had been.
Gaspar de Portola erected the cross in 1769.
Enjoy National Sandcastle Day!

I ran across this, and thought I’d share it with you all!
Read and claim it, and make it your own! I did!
He truly is all we need!
Just a note here, Vanessa at BetsaflyGallery has a new theme posted for the week…..’Shadows’.
Go take a peek, and if you’re interested in having a photo ‘hung’ in the gallery, she’d be more than happy
to take your entry! I have one there this week! Have a wonderful Wednesday!
Be blessed!

~ GOD IS THE GREAT I AM ~
He is the First and Last, the Beginning and the End!
He is the keeper of Creation and the Creator of all!
He is the Architect of the universe and the Manager of all times.
He always was, He always is, and He always will be…..
Unmoved, Unchanged, Undefeated, and never Undone!
He was bruised and brought healing!
He was pierced and eased pain!
He was persecuted and brought freedom!
He was dead and brought life!
He is risen and brings power!
He reigns and brings peace!
The world can’t understand him,
The armies can’t defeat Him,
The schools can’t explain Him…..
and the leaders can’t ignore Him.
Herod couldn’t kill Him,
The Parisees couldn’t confuse Him…..
and the people couldn’t hold Him!
Nero couldn’t crush Him,
Hitler couldn’t silence Him,
The New Age can’t replace Him…..
and Donahue can’t explain Him away!
He is light, love, longevity, and LORD.
He is Goodness, Kindness, Gentleness, and God.
He is my Redeemer, He is my Savior,
He is my Guide, and He is my Peace!
He is my Joy, He is my Comfort,
He is my LORD, and He rules my life!
I serve Him because His bond is Love,
His burden is light, and His goal for me is abundant life.
I follow Him because He is the Wisdom of the wise,
the Power of the powerful, the Ancient of Days,
the Ruler of rulers, the Leader of leaders,
the Overseer of the overcomers,
and the Sovereign LORD of all that was, and is, and is to come.
And if that seems impressive to you, try this for size.
His goal is a relationship with ME!
He will never leave me, never forsake me,
Never mislead me, never forget me, never overlook me,
and never cancel my appointment in His appointment book!
When I fall, He lifts me up!
When I fail, He forgives!
When I am weak, He is strong!
When I am lost, He is the way!
When I am afraid, He is my courage!
When I stumble, He steadies me!
When I am hurt, He heals me!
When I am broken, He mends me!
When I am blind, He leads me!
When I am hungry, He feeds me!
When I face trials, He is with me!
When I face persecution, He shields me!
When I face problems, He comforts me!
When I face loss, He provides for me!
When I face Death, He carries me Home!
He is everything that we need,
everywhere, every time, and every way!
He is God,
He is faithful.
I am His,
and He is mine!
My Father in Heaven can whip the father of this world.
So if you’re wondering why I feel so secure, understand this….

A food stand at our State Fair….one of many!!
Hope you all had a great weekend! It was hot here … where isn’t it hot these days?! Well, my dear son, Ian, called, and said that he had to wear a sweatshirt to go outside Friday night out in Monterey! I almost bought a ticket and flew out there! I asked him if he missed home, he said he didn’t miss the weather! Couldn’t blame him there! Can’t wait for that cool front to blow through … whenever that’s going to be!
Have you heard about Hurricane Flossie? I have a niece, Madi, who is in Hawaii on the main island, while her husband is in Iraq. Say a prayer for her safety … they are keeping a close eye on this one! They got married about 2 years ago now, and had to get there so he could begin his tour of duty! I also have another dear friend who was recently diagnosed with cancer of the lymph nodes! We have known her for over 26 years! She is going through chemotherapy now, and losing hair. Her name is Sally, and she is a dear sister in the Lord! Please pray for these 2 dear ones!
Well, our weekend was semi-uneventful, if there is such a thing!
We did take a quick trip to our State Fair, it was very warm! I got a few pictures…one of hubby eating that long awaited ”Elephant Ear”!! We are going back again, sometime this week, to enjoy more of the indoor things we like to do. We tried to meet up with the group from ‘Way of the Master’ (WOTM), but we couldn’t find them! They were to be there on their weekly evangelistic outreach! They were lost to us in the crowd! There were a lot of people there at the time … it was Christian concert night! Featured artists: Jeremy Camp and Casting Crowns. We didn’t go … have you checked ticket prices lately! This was way too expensive … three times cheaper to buy the CD’s! We did run into to one of Ian’s best friends who was on his to see them…we told him to tell us all about it later!
Lewis worked most of Saturday then went to meet his group for the prison ministry. Said it was a wonderful night, and the Lord used one of the inmates to get the ball rolling! He said that God was in total control of that meeting, and it was blessed! There have been some great testimonies coming out of that! We went to dinner today … we had a real nice waiter, named Jason … who was working a slow afternoon, so we got to talking about this, that, and the other, and the subject of church came up. So my hubby started sharing with him about the prison ministry…and what had happened Saturday night. Jason seemed very interested … had just moved into the area, and shared with us about how his father had gone to a seminar/teaching called “The Emmaus Road”, I think he called it … and it really changed his life! Has anyone ever heard of that? Well, we told him about the WOTM meetings, and he had heard of that. He took my husband’s cell number, and said he’d like to go with him to the next meeting at the prison … and also to the WOTM meetings! PTL!! God has sent another person to share in reaching out to those in need of a merciful Saviour! How are people to know unless we reach out to them?!
“But how are people to call upon Him Whom they have not believed {in Whom they have no faith, on Whom they have no reliance}? And how are they to believe in Him {adhere to, trust in, and rely upon Him} of Whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without a preacher? ~And how can men {be expected to} preach unless they are sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring glad tidings’! {How welcome is the coming of those who preach the good news of His good things!}-{Isaiah 52:7}
Romans 10:14-15 Amplified.
This passage in Romans reminds us that we need to get out there and share with others about God and His love for them … about the sacrifice that Jesus made for them! People may have heard of God, but may not have heard about His love for them. Think back about that first time when you heard about Jesus! Let’s all try, this week, to share with someone, somewhere who may have never really heard about the love of Christ, and the hope we have in Him! Time is short, and we need to reach out to a dying world!
I pray that you all have a wonderful day … a blessed day … in the Lord!
Here are a few pictures for you from this past weekend before I go!
Love you all!
Hugs,
~ Deborah <><
These guys are a bit worried!
…he finally made it!
After a whole year…at last…the long awaited ‘Elephant Ear’!!
The ‘Moosh’ wasn’t too happy … we didn’t bring him one home!
And if you’d like to try one…here’s a recipe!
I couldn’t get a picture of the actual Elephant Ear,
so I thought this would do…
ELEPHANT EARS
2 c. flour
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. shortening
1/2 c. water
Oil (for frying)
TOPPING:
Melted butter
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
Blend everything, but water, as you would for pie crust. Add water and shape into a ball.
Add a few more drops of water if dough doesn’t handle well. If too sticky, add flour.
Divide into 10 even balls. Roll out to 9 to 10 inch circles.
Dip in hot oil until brown. Flip, remove and put on cookie sheet. Sprinkle with topping.
If thicker, elephant ear will be soft. If thinner, elephant ear will be crispy.
Enjoy…at your own risk!!

“Thankfulness is not something God gives us.
It is not a spiritual gift and it is not a spiritual fruit.
We can receive God’s peace, joy and love,
but thankfulness is something that we give to God and to others.
It is a choice that we make.
Let us thank Him today with songs of celebration,
hearts of strong devotion and acts of admiration.”

quote and verse
Faith expects from God what is beyond all expectation.
- Andrew Murray -
God often comes to us,
not in dramatic and the spectacular,
but in quiet, unexpected ways ...
In a still, small voice,
a gentle whisper,
God makes known His love.
In quietness and trust
is your strength.
Isaiah 30:15
Pleasure, possessions, power, and privilege are ultimately worthless in comparison to the indescribable
joy of knowing GOD!!
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him,
and He shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5,6
I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go:
I will guide thee with mine eye.
