The Day After A Very Rainy Monday … aka. a day late!

Hope you all had a great weekend!  I’m a day late getting here, but I made it!  We didn’t do alot this weekend.  Hubby worked very hard this last week, so we mainly just stayed home so he could rest up.  We are getting ready for a 3 day show this weekend, so we’ll be packin’ up soap, and coins, to head out Friday morning.  It’s going to be a long weekend, and we want to be physically up to it, so the rest did us good!  We did venture out to the chiropractor, then to eat dinner at Chili’s on Friday night, which was nice!  While we were eating, we noticed that they’re building onto our area shopping mall … there’s going to be a huge Border’s Bookstore, and The Cheesecake Factory, along with some other neat little eateries, and upscale shops.  Has anyone ever heard of, or eaten at, The Cheesecake Factory?  We’ve had their cheesecake, and it is fantabulous!  But of course, it isn’t so great for those of us who are trying to shed those pounds.

Speaking of which, I’ve had a good Monday, other than some bad weather that moved through our area … my neck is feeling better since Friday, so today, I did my 30 minutes of walking, and some weight training which I’m hoping will strengthen those neck muscles, as well!  Pray that I keep this going … I feel so much better than I have been lately … just from this one day of exercise!  I need to stay ‘consistent’ … same with reading the Word of God, and my devotion time!  I spent some extra quality time in my devotions today, reading and praying, and I feel so much better and ’filled up’!  And not being as ‘consistent’ with that as I should be, I was feeling spiritually dry … but, today, it ‘rained’ … I was totally refreshed in the water of the Word!  I pray each one of you ’keep it going’, too, and stay refreshed with a continual infilling of His Word in your lives every day!  If you’re feeling ‘parched’ … get in His presence, open His Word, and allow it to soak you all the way down to your ‘dry bones’!  I read this devotion and it went right along with my day … I wanted to share it with you all, but first … have a tremendous Tuesday, ‘get soaked’‘de-parched’, { is that a word? } and ‘be revived’!!  I’ll also be around to visit you more this week, and do some major catching up … hmmm, another place that needs more ‘consistency’ in my life!!  Do any of you find yourselves having a problem with this, too?! :o)

    DRY BONES
    Read: Ezekiel 37: 1 – 14

Are there times when you feel as though your life is like a bunch of dry, old bones?  Do you feel you need the ‘breath’ of life to revive you?

Sometimes we may feel this way.  We may get in a ‘spiritual rut’.  Everything seems to be just mechanical – going through the motions of everyday life.  We feel our lives are like these dry, old bones mentioned in this passage.

What do we do about it?  How can we be revived again?  The answer, I think, could be found in v.4.  Ezekiel was told to prophesy to these bones and say,
“0 you dry bones, hear the word of the Lord”.

Just sitting down each day skimming over the scriptures doesn’t do anything.  We just walk away exactly the same.  We need to allow God’s word to ‘soak’ us.  We need to ‘meditate’ upon God’s word and open our hearts to receive a ‘word in season’.  It’s this that can bring true revival to our otherwise ‘dried up, dreary lives’.

If we truly want to be ignited again, we need to allow the Lord to soak us with His word.  He will breathe the ‘Breath and Spirit’ into our lives, and cause us to rise up and soar.  He doesn’t want us to be in a spiritual rut – being at ground level pecking with the chickens, but to rise up and soar with the eagles.  It’s your choice!

    ~ M.S.Lowndes

But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law  (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night.  And he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper [and come to maturity].  ~ Psalm 1: 2-3

O Lord I pray you’ll breathe in me
The breath that gives me life
I don’t want to remain dry and empty
But I long to be revived

  • Hi Deborah!

RYC, absolutely.  You can print the poem for yourself or anyone else if you wish.  I agree with you about Candi when she wrote that poem.  She has been like a daughter to me for the past few years and I know what she was going through at the time that she wrote that.  God really spoke to her.

    Blessings,
    Paula

  • Hi Deborah, thanks for your sweet comment :) I have eaten at the Cheesecake factory and I LOVE cheesecake.

I am sure that the sacrifices you made in staying home with your son will not return void. Each person has his own journey and has to learn different things on their own. I am sure one day you will be pleasantly surprised to see your son hungering for more of Him. What a blessing you must be as a mother to him.

    Be blessed!

  • WE been to the  CHEESECAKE FACTORY once we do not have on here but we went down to the KING OF PRUSSIA MALL in PA this is about 4 hours away from us , so we made it a day trip, the food was good, but we had to  wait about a hour for a seat. keeping you in prayer thanks for the great post, GOD BLESS,

Your prayer request is posted. God bless you.

  • :heartbeat: I love the story of Ezekiel in the valley of dry bones (Ezekiel 37). Our God is an ever-consuming fire! He speaks and things happen. When we read the Word out loud so that our ears hear it as well is very good. Faith cometh by HEARING and HEARING THE WORD OF GOD. The WORD is where its at. :heartbeat:  Do you sell coins also?  Blessings & Love ~Carolyn

  • Wonderful thoughts… I find with two little ones in the house all day that I really have to focus or my time with God is me just going through the motions, but not really meeting with Him, know what I mean?

Yes, I’ve been a to a Cheesecake Factory restaurant. It’s fantastic. The menu is HUGE. The biggest I’ve ever seen. You can get just about anything there… and just about any kind of cheesecake, too. YUM!

  • I needed this today. I’m really glad you stopped by! Love you, girl…

    Hugs,
    Blue

  • RYC:  The Colts have lost 11 out of 12 preseason games, including the last 2 years.  Both those years they started 9 – 0, so this year should follow the same pattern…. hopefully, anyway.   The whole philosophy seems to be…”we know what the starters can do; let’s see what everyone else can do.”  Works for me, except it’s really hard to see them lose no matter what.  I’m pretty sure they play again on Sat. night, but I’m not sure against who.  Have a great week!  ~Lori

I do find myself skimming….nasty habit….I really need to feed on each and every word……God bless your evening..

What do you bring to the craft shows??

  • Thanks for your comment. My DH is going to go out tonight and get me some of that apple cider vinegar.

The Cheesecake Factory is very tasty – I’ve only been once, but it was memorable. :)

  • :sunny: Have a great rest in the Lord, to be in HIS PRESENCE refreshes us, shakes us up, excites us, builds us up, edifies us!!! oh mannn,….get soak sister!:yes:

    :wave:Blessings to you!:lookaround:

  • Glad you had a relaxing weekend. I had an unexpected night off Monday, so I sort of puttered around and did a few things, but not much of anything.

Yes… hear the word of the Lord.

  • I go through times when it’s a real struggle to be consistent. Mostly with exercise. I always feel better when I do it, but I still try to avoid it! Why do you suppose that is?  I am going to physical therapy for my back, and tomorrow I will start back after taking a break to deal with all the company we had this summer. I know I am going to be sore! YEEOW!

  • :sunny:Good Morning Deborah! May you feel saturated in the Father’s Love and have a Terrific Day!…………..(((((((Hugs))))))))………….In Christ’s love………Monic:heartbeat:

quote and verse

Faith expects from God what is beyond all expectation.
- Andrew Murray -

God often comes to us,
not in dramatic and the spectacular,
but in quiet, unexpected ways ...
In a still, small voice,
a gentle whisper,
God makes known His love.

In quietness and trust
is your strength.
Isaiah 30:15

Pleasure, possessions, power, and privilege are ultimately worthless in comparison to the indescribable
joy of knowing GOD!!

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him,
and He shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5,6

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go:
I will guide thee with mine eye.
