  • Thankful thursday 2 ~ THANKFUL THURSDAY ~

Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say, Rejoice!
    { Philippians 4:4 }

We have been encouraged to possess “An attitude of gratitude.”  There is just something about being a child of God that should make that kind of attitude something easy to attain.  The reality of it is that many of us struggle to keep our eyes and hearts focused on the glories of God when we are down in the dumps—or maybe just living life.  Yet, if we can move through the mire, and push beyond the pitfalls of the day to day, perhaps we can see our way to live a life that sends a message to the masses.  The message is simple: God has blessed us all so very much, and He is good!  Imagine continually thanking God in all things as you go from day to day—rejoicing in Christ no matter what.  Consider the impact on the lives of others as your gratitude to God takes root and seeps from every part of your being.  Thanking Him in everything is something so gratifying in itself.  And thanking Him out loud—why that’s contagious!
    ~ R. Chambers

Smilie Thank YouSo … let’s get contagious!!  It’s a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD!!  Today I’m thankful for His Word.  So many treasures to be found there!  One of my 8 yearly goals, that I’m working on, is to spend more time in the scriptures seeking and sharing those treasures!

coffee computer Hope you’re all staying warm … yesterday we had a frigid 8*!!  We’re supposed to have a regular heat wave today … around 27*!  I really enjoy the cold though!  Well, you all have a wonderful and ‘thankful’ Thursday!  I’ll be working on cleaning out some closets, catching up on some laundry, and doing some visiting on here today!

    Hugs,

  • Thanks for your reminder for an ‘attitude of gratitude’ — it helped me with wishing my daughter a happy birthday today, and reminding her of how special she is and how blessed we are by the Lord for giving her to us.  Hadn’t thought of birthdays as an opportunity for gratitude to the Lord for those He has blessed us with before, so thanks!!  I’m looking forward to getting to know you (here, or IM or email or whatever).  Blessings, Leslie

  • Oh I LOVE the new look!!!! be by tomorrow for more comments!!! Nite ((((HUGS))))

  • :sunny: It is a great day to be thankful. Have a good time cleaning out stuff.

  • “Thanful thursday” … I should remember that … every day.

  • OK! I’m back! You asked about macadamia nuts. They are NOT low in calories… oh, my, NO! That’s probably why they are so good!   I munched my way through all the supply I got from my honey for Christmas, and now I am sad. Yes, you can put them in cookies. I have had toll house type cookies with white chocolate chunks and macadamia nuts, and they were wonderful!

  • Yes! We need to practice that attitude of gratitude. ***It is c-c-cold here today! The wind is brutal! We had to go out to the police station to get our passports in order, and I really bundled up like an Eskimo. It is kind of a long walk to our car from the apartment building we live in, and the wind whips like crazy. I am glad to be back inside. A day like this, you need some flowers to remind you of Spring!  *** I hope you are making more and more of a dent in all the packing and sorting. Too bad it’s not the kind of weather for a garage sale!*** I just remembered that you asked me some questions, and I can’t remember what they were, so I will have to go back to my site and read your comment and then come back here!

  • Love the new layout…:heartbeat:

Thankfulness is the least we can give…it’s doing the same as Jesus would do that some struggle with, but great is the reward if followed. “Thank you for giving to the Lord” comes to mind.

I know that you and Lew’s line will be long, as far as the eye can see, for your rewards will be abundant. That’s is what life is and should be about. I know I would be in that line.

Dan and I are planing our Ballooning Calanders, I can hardly wait to share them with him.

    Love you, Deanna

  • I love the new look of the site. Very nice and simple.

I’m thankful for my xanga friends!

It’s cold here, too. The high is supposed to be about 12* today, but with the wind chill it will feel like below zero. I think we’ll be staying in for most of the day. Josh and I have an appointment to see some houses this afternoon, but his mom has agreed to watch the girls, thankfully.

    Have a wonderful day.

  • Hi Deborah.. happy belated New Year. I am trying to get around to read everyone after all of the holiday hub bub.

Loved the pics of the new house… looks great!
    Blessings, Bee

  • :yes:Be Thankful everyday! I always remember how important that is! There is someone who is not so blessed as you!………………Your cleaning closets is contagious. I had a talk with DH about organizing cabinets and closets in the house yesterday! We really need to do it, too! So this weekend we are going to pitch in and start! Fun Fun! We have lived here 10 years coming up in this July and it is time to sort and pitch or give to Good-Will!Ha!………..Well have a Great Thursday! And know that you are a Great Lady of God!………….In Christ’s Love…….Monic:heartbeat:

  • I forget where you all live but we are 7 hours later than the East Coast of the USA. So at 8AM there it is already 3PM here. We are 10 hours different from the xanga friends in California.

  • Today we have a chilly 15! Everyday should be “Thankful Thursday!!!” I am still working on my 8 goals.

quote and verse

Faith expects from God what is beyond all expectation.
- Andrew Murray -

God often comes to us,
not in dramatic and the spectacular,
but in quiet, unexpected ways ...
In a still, small voice,
a gentle whisper,
God makes known His love.

In quietness and trust
is your strength.
Isaiah 30:15

Pleasure, possessions, power, and privilege are ultimately worthless in comparison to the indescribable
joy of knowing GOD!!

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him,
and He shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5,6

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go:
I will guide thee with mine eye.
Psalm 32:8
