SHOW N’ TELL
I couldn’t believe this at first,
but, it’s really for real!!
I liked the fact that it was ORGANIC!
But …. in a can?!~ ORGANIC BATTER BLASTER ~
MAKES BREAKFAST A BLAST !
OH, AND DON’T FORGET THE BUTTER FOR THOSE ‘BATTER BLASTED PANCAKES’!
?? ANY QUESTIONS ??
If you’re baffled by “Batter Blaster” …
Here are a few frequently asked questions:
YOU CAN ALSO CHECK OUT THE GREAT TV COMMERCIAL
AND OTHER INFORMATION RIGHT —> HERE !
At the one and only ‘Batter Blaster’ website!
They even have a ‘store search’, if you want to find those ‘cakes in a can’!
We’re going to give them a try! There are some good reviews on this!
Although, someone did say that they were expensive.
They’d be great on a camping trip, too!
HAPPY ‘BLASTING’!!
Now for those of you with a bit more time on your hands,
and would rather not use those ‘blasted pancakes in a can’ …
here is a great pancake recipe that I’d like to share!
HEALTHY WHOLE-WHEAT
APPLE & PUMPKIN PANCAKES
3/4 cup canned pumpkin
1/2 cup egg whites (I purchase by the carton–cholesterol ya know)
1 TBS canola oil
1 large Granny Smith apple, shredded (about 1 cup)
2 cups fat-free milk
2 cups whole-wheat flour
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
3 TBS sugar (heaping)
In a medium-size bowl, combine pumpkin, egg whites,
canola oil, shredded apple, and milk.
In a large bowl, mix remaining dry ingredients well.
Add pumpkin mixture to dry ingredients and whisk together until blended.
Add a touch more milk if batter is too thick.
Heat a lightly oiled griddle (or large skillet) over medium heat.
Spoon roughly 1/4 cup of batter on griddle.
Cook pancakes until edges begin to brown and bubbles form on top.
Use a wide spatula to flip pancakes over and cook until bottom is golden
and pancakes are done in center, about two to three minutes.
Serve hot with melted butter, syrup, or as I do … with my fingers and nothing else!
~ Could You Even Imagine ~
The ‘Batter Blaster’ brings to mind somethng that I encountered once.
You know the people in the malls who stop you to take those surveys?
Yes, that’s right, the ones with the clipboards.
Well, one day, a sweet lady, with one of those clipboards,
stopped me to ask some questions regarding a new improved food product
that was being considered for marketing.
I thought, why not …
… so, she takes me to this little room, and shows me some pictures,
along with the description of this ‘new’ improved product.
Well, I must say, it was the strangest ’food’ item I’d ever encountered!
Can you even imagine … {I’ll try to describe it the best I can} …
Dill pickle relish, all compacted down tight into a flat square,
and held together (by food glue, or something??) then cut into ‘green’ spotted slices …
then individually wrapped, and packaged like the Kraft cheese slices we get in the store?!!
A bit hard to describe, but, trust me, it looked hideous …
the thought of food was the farthest thing from my mind when I first saw those pickle relish slices!
Again, I ask … can you even imagine???
I wasn’t quite sure what to think … I had to say something …
the sweet lady with the clipboard was waiting …
and it was my duty, at that time, to give it some sort of rating, and I felt bad telling her how
utterly icky it looked, so I tried to think on the positive side of the slice …
…. it would be convenient to pack on picnics, or take on a camping trip …
… easy to use … never messy like the relish in the jar …
but, one major problem that I could forsee was …
… what about the hot dogs!
We’re so use to dropping glops of relish on those!
Oh, I suppose you could ‘wrap’ it …. but would that be the same?!
And it would absolutely have to be ‘sweet’ pickle relish for my hot dog!!
So, after having seen enough of these pickled pictures,
I shared these concerns with this sweet lady and the clipboard…
she took lots of notes, and then I was free to go.
Today … 4 years later …
I’ve yet to see any trace of those Pickle Relish Slices on the shelves of our neighborhood grocery stores!
But, I suppose it was for the best!
Could you even imagine?!!
COMMENTS MOST WELCOME!
Hope you all have a blessed weekend!Hugs,

Ewww…gross green slices…..ewwww
Your recipe looks awesome…thanks Deborah and be blessed
RYC: The Batter Blaster wasn’t what I was commenting about. I was commenting about the relish slices! I cannot even imagine what this would look like! Ha!
The Batter Blaster looks like something that we could take camping!!
Ps 34:8 is the latest wall expression I put above my kitchen sink! Check out my pictures under the Uppercase Living section! Looks so nice!
Now as far as those relish slices go…..uhmmmmm….NOT!!!! LOL You handled this a whole lot nicer than I would have or could have! I’m a little too blunt at times!!! LOL I would have just cracked up, thinking it was a joke or something!!!
The apple pumpkin pancakes look awesome!
As for the batter blaster, I am not sure if it were that specific brand, BUT, just a few weeks ago, they were giving samples away at a local grocery (Meijer) of pancakes in a can, just like the above product.
My wife and son tried it, and they said it did not taste bad at all. I had to ask if there was syrup in that can too, they said no. My next comment went on about eating more and more like astronauts everyday,…
So I can vouch that they are a real item, and according to the local taste testers, they don’t taste too bad either,..
I will wait until syrup and butter are included,…
God Bless,
Robert
cool

No, I can’t imagine relish slices. That is sad your SIL won’t take chemo. I always said I wouldn’t until I needed it LOL. I had breast cancer 4 yrs ago. It is bad but I rather be safe than sorry. There was a girl there taking it for colon cancer and she was pretty young, say 40 if that and it didn’t make her hair come out. Does your SIL want to die????? They say it is curable if found in time. I will be praying for her too. Thanks for the prayers. Have a blessed Sunday.
Hugs,
Jackie
Kind of make breakfast a blast! I like really nice hot pancakes with hot home made syrup! Yum yum yum!
I guess those blasted pancakes would be good for camping! That reminds me in the store before Christmas we saw cans of hot cocoa and all you had to do to heat it up was pull a tab of something like that. Now those would probably be good to have camping with those pancakes =]
The pumpkin and apple pancakes look yummy. You are making me hungry and I just ate lunch!
Good thing we haven’t seen those pickle slices on the shelves. Ewww! :wha:
Well I am needing to lay down but wanted to get some comments in first lol. So I have to be moving on through xanga land
I wanted to make sure I came by here! :goodjob:
I love your family pics and especially of you and Ian and the missing you underneath. and then this song playing (The Gift) and it makes me want to cry LOL (don’t mind me I’ve been a bit emotional haha)
Have a great Friday! =] and weekend.
Theresa
Ummmm… yuck! That’s all I can say about the relish slices. I just don’t understand what you would use them for as we already have pickle slices. Anyway….
I’m not sure what I think about batter blaster. Sure looks interesting, I guess. But I think I would much rather just make my own.
Thank you for your prayers on our house search. We have made an offer on one. Please pray it will get accepted.
Will they tell us we can spray sausage out of a can next? :p
Hello, Dear Friend! Sorry you are still not feeling well. Don’t you just wish sometimes you could copy the bears and take about a month off at this time of year to hibernate? LOL! Here it is so dark and dreary that it would be kinda nice to crawl into a cave and sleep through the worst of it. Last night I had to be out, and it was not pleasant walking home! Brrrrr! The wind was at my back, though, and that helped!*** I am glad you saved us from pickle relish slices! I can only imgaine how gross that must have looked! LOL! When we lived in the States, I liked trying different test products and taking those surveys. I remember I got 20 dollars once for spending two hours eating caramel corn! Believe me, I was really, really sick of it by the time that was over! One of my kids agreed to drink a six pack of a new soda they were trying. It turned her whole mouth BLUE! *** Those pancakes do look………..er……… interesting! I’m not so much a pancake person, though. When I eat all that so early in the day, I feel like I am walking around with a basket ball in my stomach. BURP! *** Pea Hater teased me that the green slime picture looks like broccoli with a bad cold! I don’t really know what it is. I just typed “green slime” into Google Image, and that was one of the choices.
*** Yes! Macadamia nuts in your cookies! Go for it! They are quite expensive, so that keeps my habit in check. A small bag is 22 kroner, which is about $4! *** We will be leaving for the States on the 10th. I am praying the weather will be better than it is right now. High winds make for a bumpy ride, which sometimes makes the use of those disgusting little airsick bags a necessity. Ew! We will fly in to our older daughter’s town and spend a few days there resting and trying to recuperate from jet lag. It’s hard! You find yourself wide awake at 3 AM, and your body is all confused about night and day. My husband will be teaching a leadership seminar the next day, so I hope he is able to sleep. We will be having dinner on Saturday with some great people we met on Xanga. (Dingdongdingbat and the gang!) Monday morning we will fly to NYC and will be there in time to help Abby with anything she wants our help with before the wedding. We will also have a chance to meet Craig’s family for the first time, and will probably do some “touristy” things with them since they are all the way from Northern Ireland and have never been in the Big Apple before. The wedding is the 19th. We will stay until the following Monday and then fly back to my other daughter’s place. We have churches to speak in and family to see, so we will be doing a lot of running. We also have some Danish friends who are going to be coming to the wedding and then spending a week with us, so we want to show them the city. I hope the weather is good, because they would really like to see Niagara Falls! All in all, the trip is not going to be very restful! I am sure by the time we get back to Denmark in early February we are going to be very weary. *** Today my poor honey is up to his eyeballs in Danish taxes. We have to get them done and turned in before we leave. We have to pay taxes in TWO countries! Aren’t we lucky? LOL! The Danish system is very different, and our tax man here keeps insisting we have to pay more than we think we should. Please pray that this gets worked out in our favor. Taxes here are 50% of your income, and even though our income is less than it was last year, he insists we owe MORE!** We are also still waiting to hear back about the status of our passports. We filled out paperwork and it was supposed to be faxed to Copenhagen last week. We need stamps which will give us permission to get back into Denmark when we return. Please pray that the government takes quick action on this, since we are supposed to fly out of here in five days! *** An indoor garage sale sounds like fun. Yeah, you will both have to restrain yourselves from any purchases this year! *** I saw on the news this morning about the power outages in CA. I am sure Ian is in a good, safe place. As Jesus would say, “Let not your heart be troubled.” Well, I have written a book here. I guess I should have just e-mailed you, huh? Anyway, blessings on your weekend, dear friend! Feel better! Love, Mae
Ha! This is funny! What will they think of next????? I always make my own pancake batter. It is easy and quick and tastes way better than any of the powders. Thanks for the recipe! I may try it although I have to use raw pumpkin since we don’t have it in cans.
On another topic…it has been around 1 degree f so the snow is not melting….BUT we have had sun the past three days for which I am SO THANKFUL!!!!!!! All the fog and dreary greyness makes me feel dreary.
:goodjob:I like the Batter Blaster idea much better than the pickle relish slices:wha:!!……………It reminds me of when my CO decided that for health reasons and sanitation in production that it was much easier to buy the ketchup, mustard and mayo that they use on their sandwhiches already premeasured and frozen. They called it a “Puck”…….Never saw one but I could only imagine!
…………….If they still use them, I don’t know. I know that those sandwhiches have been contracted out, because they know expanded the back and make their own donuts and fresh deli sandwhiches…………But please don’t ask me about that part of the CO……I know nothing except what I hear and I receive the regular merchandise for our stores so that part I know nothing about………………If you are confused by this, trust me so am I and I have worked there for 13 years!……….Better, biggerand faster that is our world!…………….Hope you have a Wonderful weekend!
