    Bar Primitive Heart on Wire

Well, I know it’s been a few days … please bear with me!  I do need to visit more and post more, but packing will be taking a bit of my time and attention here in the near future!  Once we get moved, things will settle down and I’ll be much more consistant here!  In the meantime, don’t forget about me … I’ll do my best!  I’ll give a quick update and share a few photos from a highlight this past weekend, but first of all, they have had some terrific weather here in the midwest … north of us, because of some major flooding … many people lost all they owned!  Our prayers go out to them, and to the other families who lost loved ones yesterday during the storms!  Just the day before yesterday, it was almost 70* here … I can never remember it being that warm in January!  Strange, indeed, and not at all normal for this time of year!  How is it in your area?  It’s been warm and rainy here the past 2 days … and the sump pump in the basement is working overtime!  It’s been awhile since it’s been replaced, and we’re praying it holds up!  Hopefully the rain will stop soon … but then we have the cold weather coming in for the weekend … with a possibility of snow, which as you know, I look forward to!  Also, if you hadn’t heard, California has also been experiencing some bad weather, as well.  I spoke to Ian and he said the winds in his area were clocked at around 120mph!  There was significant damage to some buildings in that area, and the church also had damage to the property there where he works.  Their power was out for some time, but he is fine, and things seem to be back to normal now.  I’m thankful!  He also gave me some wonderful news!  He will be flying home on the morning of February 6th, and we’ll be pickin’ up our boy around 10:00PM that same evening!  We are so excited … he’s staying until the 18th!  He’ll be here in the midst of our packing, and I’m happy he’ll be here to help with that … we just don’t know what to keep and what to get rid of … I don’t want to throw something away that he would need when he gets home!  Oh…if you could only see the basement … no, I wouldn’t want you to see the basement!  All I can say about that is … life happens!   Anyway …

… Tim came back to visit his family this past week, and we got to have dinner with them on Sunday!  It was so good to see him … it was a connection to Ian … if you know what I mean!  He was headed back out on Monday and we were glad that we were able to spend some time with them all!  We ate at their favorite Mexican restaurant, called El Pueblo … it had the best food, and very bright surroundings, as you can see from the photos!  You’ll notice the cheery colors and the carvings on the backs of the chairs, and on the table tops … very pretty!  Aside from the good food, that’s why it’s their favorite … the cheery atmosphere!  And yes … the walls were really that green!  We all love Mexican food!  Who doesn’t?!!  I can’t count the times we’ve all eaten at one Mexican restaurant or another, as the boys were growing up together!  So many memories!  Ian was so missed … it wasn’t the same without him … so Tim made sure a few of the photos would make him smile!  They did me too, as you can see!  As usual, we had a great time being with each other, and always the last ones to leave a restaurant … we never want to see it end!  Well, you all have a wonderful Wednesday, and go hug your friends!  They are a true gift to the heart!  Be blessed!  Hugs, Deborah <><

  • So glad Ian is coming home for a visit in Feb. I am sure you are so excited! That should help you get through the packing :) Blessings to you!

  •

I don’t envy you in moving at all, it is so horrible. I said I would never move again but am wanting to move down by my son by Dallas maybe in 5-6 yrs or so, who knows. I waste a lot of time looking at houses down there for sale LOL. That looks like a really good restaurant and the food looks great too. Have a great and blessed week.

    Hugs,

    Jackie

  • Just droping in to say hi and wishing you a Blessed Sunday ,

  • Thinking of you, and hoping the packing is going well.

  • Yummmmm……I will take Lewis’ meal, if he doesn’t mind!!! LOL  I LOVE Mexican food!  And I LOVE the bright colors in this one!  Wow! You need sunglasses to sit at this restaurant!! :)

I also dislike packing!  If we could just have someone else come in and do it for us, that would be ideal, woudln’t it?  However, I LOVE to unpack!  I LOVE new beginnings!  I love being able to put things away in a whole new way from before!

I will continue to pray for you my Sweet Friend (who could NEVER be forgotten!!!!)  :heartbeat::heartbeat:

  • Hey girl!

LOVE the new look!  I am afeered to update my xanga to the new stuff…’fraid I’ll hate it!  But yours looks SWELL!!  :)

I LOVE the pic of you and Lew, and you and Ian on the side bar….you and your hubby are a match!!  I have looked older than Mike for years….since I didn’t color my gray hair…and he’s finally starting to gray up a bit!  (So we can LOOK like we go together!  )

I am scared of heights too…we were on the 9th floor, the glass elevators went FAST, and they had open balcony type rooms…with bi-focals it made me dizzy!  But it WAS relaxing…though traveling in KC traffic makes my behind tight!!  (as well as my face and my chest!)

Yes, I knew you were moving….to the country!!!  Yee Haw!!!  We country girls need to stick together!  :goodjob:   Glad to hear your boy will be home for a bit in Feb…..I KNOW how it feels to have your precious ones far away…and how GREAT it is when they come to visit!

    Hugs!
    Beth

  • Mmmm, that all looks good especially the big scoop of guacamole.  I think I have been to that restaurant!  Somehow I got behind on your blog so I just caught up.  Hasn’t this weather been interesting?  We had a great visit with our son and his new girlfriend that he brought home to meet us! That is exciting but another new stage of motherhood to face up to.  I have never seen pancakes in a can!  Seems like a great idea for camping or for people who don’t like to mix things up.  Your pancake recipe looks fantastic!  Have a great weekend, good luck with all the packing!  Christy

  • I hope you’ve had a nice Christmas! It looks like you had fun spending time with family! I’m prolly going to feel more appreciative of the challenge of letting a family member go when Stephen leaves this Tuesday. But as you have said, God gives grace. Thanks for your comment you gave last year.lol

  • Psalm 34:3 is my very favorite verse.  Awesome tables and chairs in the restaurant!

  • :sunny:Hi Deb,

You will never be forgotten so don’t worry! I know all to well about moving…we have been here for almost 2 years
and we still haven’t completely unpacked and we probably never will….ugh! Those table & chairs are beautiful! That
looks like a great time was had…I am so glad Ian is coming home and for a good while to help you that is great news!

    Have a blessed Wednesday…..Linda

  • Oh packing indeed is a lot of work!  Great pics.

  • Looks like a good time. I love getting together with friends for a night . Have a great day.

  • Ah, packing – a horrid fate, and you are right it is so hard to know what to keep and what not to keep – the rule I think is that if you throw it out you will need it within the month. Even worse than packing is unpacking – so I am praying with you through this. Love your pictures.

    Heather

  • :spinning:Hello Deborah! I would have loved that restaurant too!!! the tables and chairs are really nice!!!! Friends keep us going so often! It is slushy, grey foggy and cold here..in short miserable… but a bunch of us went out to celebrate a friends birthday and that saved the day! Blessings on you!!! Get ruthless with the packing LOL!!!

  • I hope your packing goes well. I wouldn’t want you to see my basement either, and I’ve only been married 8 years.

We didn’t get that house, but we are fine with it, in fact a little relieved. We were getting that “run away very quickly” feeling about it. We’ll keep looking. Thank you for your prayers about it.

    Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

  • :wave:Blessings to you! Wow, packing and moving that is a job! But it’ll be great after its all done!! I loved looking at your pictures, everyone looks great and having fun!! Yes, colors in the resturant are bright but looks good on the furniture!!Yes your right mexican food is yummmi!!!

    Have a good week!

  • I enjoyed the pictures! That restaurant is really extraordinary! We are in the middle of packing, packing, packing! Tomorrow morning, it will all be done, and we will be on that plane! Actually, the first of FOUR we will take to get us to our daughter’s wedding! Blessings to you, my dear! I don’t know if I will have many chances to visit while we are away, but my Honey is bringing his laptop, and my kids have computers. It’s hard to get on the internet in NYC, though. Thanks for all your prayers and care. Love you!

  • :sunny:Good Morning Sweet Friend! Hope you have a Wonderful Wednesday! I will be praying for God to give you peace and strength and energy for this move! We started reorganizing and cleaned the Cabinets in the Kitchen plus both  the Entry closet and linen closet this past weekend! Now we are going to do the bedrooms this weekend!………This will be a Whole New House!………….(((((Hugs))))))………….In Christ’s Love………Monic:heartbeat::love::wave::heartbeat:

quote and verse

Faith expects from God what is beyond all expectation.
- Andrew Murray -

God often comes to us,
not in dramatic and the spectacular,
but in quiet, unexpected ways ...
In a still, small voice,
a gentle whisper,
God makes known His love.

In quietness and trust
is your strength.
Isaiah 30:15

Pleasure, possessions, power, and privilege are ultimately worthless in comparison to the indescribable
joy of knowing GOD!!

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him,
and He shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5,6

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go:
I will guide thee with mine eye.
