    What If

What if GOD couldn’t take the time to bless us today
Because we couldn’t take the time to thank HIM yesterday?

What if GOD decided to stop leading us tomorrow
Because we didn’t follow HIM today?

What if we never saw another flower bloom
Because we grumbled when GOD sent the rain?

What if GOD didn’t walk with us today
Because we failed to recognize it as His day?

What if GOD took away His message
Because we failed to listen to the messenger?

What if GOD didn’t send His only begotten Son
Because He wanted us to be prepared to pay the price for sin?

What if the door of the church was closed
Because we did not open the door of our heart?

What if GOD stopped loving and caring for us
Because we failed to love and care for others?

What if GOD would not hear us today
Because we would not listen to Him yesterday?

What if GOD answered our prayers the way we answer His call to service?

What if GOD met our needs the way we give Him our lives?

    CHILD AND JESUS

    Prayers Needed
:  I hope you’ve all had a blessed week!  As many of you know we’ve been packing to move, but right now prayers are so very needed!  My husband woke up in the middle of the night last night, and said that he was having ‘second thoughts’ about this house … he was feeling the Lord telling him that maybe this might not be the right move for us … that he feels that it might be a bit over our heads, financially, and that He may have something better for us!  I thought it was right all along, but just maybe God has other plans!  Nothing has been signed, or set in stone at this point … and we desperately need your prayers for guidance, and for God’s will to be done in all of this!  I am so confused about it all now!  We need clear direction at this point!  Your prayers are so very appreciated!  I will share more about this later, and keep you posted … in the meantime, please pray that God show us a clear answer … and soon!  Has there ever been an instance in your lives when you’ve started to make a decision like this, or any decision, and God turned you right around and in a new direction??  Encouraging words welcome!!

    Thank you so much!
    Bless you all!
    ~ Hugs, Deborah <><

In times of uncertainty, wait.  Always, if you have any doubt, wait.
Do not force yourself into any action.
If you have a restraint in your spirit, wait until all is clear, and do not go against it.  ~ Anonymous

God speaks to us through our desires, then as we lay them at His feet,
He helps us sort them out and quiets our hearts to accept what He has already prepared.  ~ Rosalind Rinker

There are always uncertainties ahead, but there is always one certainty–God’s will is good.  ~ Vernon Paterson

In perplexities – when we cannot tell what to do, when we cannot understand what is going on around us –
let us be calmed and steadied and made patient by the thought that what is hidden from us is not hidden from Him.

  • Gotta think about that one….but I am praying for you and Lewis to get a clear “voice” to know exactly which way to go with this….loved your “what if”

  • :sunny:Hi Deb,

I remember when Bob and I were young and niave, we went and looked at a house when Vanessa (our daughter)
was 2 1/2 years old and it was on this big hill and the realtor kept falling in the driveway, well after about 5 years of
us living there I began to realize that when that realtor fell those many times the Lord was telling us NOT to buy that
house but we didn’t listen and to be honest with you we weren’t living very close to the Lord at that time. Of course
we made due for 23 years in that house…I broke my foot and fell many times on that driveway…lols…a lesson learned.
I love where we live now but with the economy the way it is I hope we can keep living here…you never know…keep your
heart in tuned with the Lord and yes, I agree with Sharon the quotes you have shared are very good. You all are in my prayers .

  • We’ve had several instances where God has given us a “check” in our spirit about doing or not doing something as we “put the car in drive” so to speak.  You can’t drive a parked car…..  so once you step out toward something you believe you are supposed to do, God will give you direction (as it sounds like he is).  He is the voice behind you saying, “This is the way, walk ye in it. When you turn to the right or to the left.”

We had a situation in buying a house two years ago, signed a contract with a clause which gave us the option to get out of it by a certain date.  We felt sure that was the house.  Each time we would go to oversee inspections at the house, take family members, etc. we began to have less peace.  Each time!  Finally, the day before the option was up, we found the perfect house and were easily able to get out of the other contract because of that clause!

On the other hand, we pressed buying another house (many years ago), but had obstacles we thought were just “the enemy”.  That house ended up with massive termites one year later and we sunk alot of money into it!  God was merciful and when we sold it, we actually got more than the asking price because there were two buyers fighting it out!!! :sunny:

I recently read a book called God Guides by Mary Geegh.  She gives scriptures and testimonies of what she calls the listening prayer.  Talking to the Lord and then just being quiet for 30 minutes or less with paper and pen in hand to write down the thoughts that come to you.  In every short chapter, God spoke because THEY WERE LISTENING FOR HIM.
James says when we ask for wisdom He will give it to us liberally and not with hold it!!!  I pray you have God’s wisdom in this situation and it all goes well!

    Blessings!!!

  • my prayer for you right now is that God will give you a crystal clear direction, and that he would close doors that need to be closed and open the doors that no man can open. that he will lead you and guide you into his perfect will. and that he would give you a peace that passes understanding and a confirmation that what you are doing is right, whether it is this house or a better one that he has in store for you. in Jesus name, i pray, amen.

  • beautiful and though provoking. i really needed this post today. i am being forced into a decision about my brother, who for the most part is homeless (he only has a small camper trailer with no water or food or job). he has  been visiting with us for two weeks and at the beginning of the two week period we said he could come for a visit and try to find a job. so we drove an hour away and picked him up. he has worked so hard at my house helping me with outside work that needed to be done, and i have been taking him everywhere in our small town, but nothing has opened up for him yet. i don’t want to cut him short…i don’t want him to be put back into the dreariness of where he was staying. i want to see him succeed, but all of my wanting cannot make him do it. he has to want it even more than i want it. he is just lost right now not knowing where to go or what to do. i am going to speak to my pastor tonight because this tuesday marks his two weeks that he was supposed to be here. he has two daughters that live a couple of hours away and i feel it would be best for him and their mother (his x) for him to get closer to where they live so he can have the kids when he wants them. those girls have been his life. he was the mom and the dad to them when they were babies, and not having a job, has taken him away from them.  just help me pray for the perfect will of God. and thank you in advance…

  • I had a little more time to read what you wrote. Doors will open for you ~ the right door!

I am looking forward to hearing how the Lord is working in your lives.

  • Deborah,

Praying right now for wisdom as to what to do about the house. May God guide you and help you and your husband have one mind about all this.

  • We will pray for His peace for you and His guidance for you.  Sometimes we have to step out of the boat with our faith to receive the blessings intended.

    Robert

                                                                                             SANDY

  • I will be praying for y’all!!!

  • Praying for you! It’s so hard to be submissive (at it is for me) and let your husband lead in situations like this. I’m praying for both of you.

  • I am Praying for you!  :heartbeat:

  • Hope  your day is a good day. Thanks for coming by.

  • “Let Him have all your worries and cares for He is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you.”  I Peter 5:7 TLB – I stood on this verse when my daughter, Anju got married soon-2-be 10 years ago. We only had 3 months in which to plan it. I literally did this – I GAVE everything to the Lord and left it in His hands and He worked everything out. You cannot find a photographer in that short of time span, but one evening a photographer called me and asked if we still needed one — I JUST ABOUT YELLED, “YES!!!!!!!”  (I had called him earlier, but they were all booked.) God gets the glory in all of this because He truly put everything together. He is a God of ORDER.  “Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you.” Numbers 14:28

  • :heartbeat: Hi Deborah ~ Praying that you will KNOW what to do in a clear and concise manner.  I like your quotations at the end of your post. Very true. :heartbeat: :heartbeat: ~Carolyn    :sunny:

  • In my experience it is far more likely that we start to do something thinking it is a good choice and has God’s blessing etc and then we panic or things get difficult and we start having second thoughts. In fact…nearly every time we make a difficult decision something comes along to make us think twice. It might help to retrace and think about what led you to make the decision in the first place and if anything has really changed. My guess is that you are doubting the wisdom of your decision and not God’s leading. Prayer is essential. :sunny:

  • I thought the advice you quoted was very good. God will give you both peace with the right decision when you are in agreement. Praying for wisdom and direction for you:heartbeat::heartbeat:. Bless you both!Sharon

  • :sunny:Oh Sweet Friend! I am praying! God is hearing, that is why Lewis is being stirred!……………Yes, My DH and I were having problems with our Mortgage company two Summers ago and we thought; you know we have been talking about moving and getting land out, maybe this is God wanting us to move. So we started looking and found what we thought was the Ideal place. Perfect in price still in the same School district and perfect layout of what we would like in a house. The people at the time said that they would except our offer if we get a contract on ours first. So we put it on the market and we thought for sure we would have it sold in a month,if not sooner. Our last house sold in two weeks. And since this one is in a much better neighborhood and location……..But it didn’t and the other house sold!…………So to make this long story short, there really wasn’t anything else out there and we ended up refinancing, got a much lower interest rate, did some major improvements with the escrow money and have a lower house payment and a much better Mortgage Company. So I guess the Lord was showing us that we waren’t ready to make that move and to be quit honest I am glad now we didn’t! Financially we are much better off!! Our house payment would of been another $400.00 a month added to what we pay here. So God does have better plans when we really seek Him in all that we do. I will continue to pray and remember to Trust and Obey! (((((((((((((HUGs)))))))))))))) Have a God -Filled weekend!……..In Christ’s Love ……..Monic:heartbeat:

quote and verse

Faith expects from God what is beyond all expectation.
- Andrew Murray -

God often comes to us,
not in dramatic and the spectacular,
but in quiet, unexpected ways ...
In a still, small voice,
a gentle whisper,
God makes known His love.

In quietness and trust
is your strength.
Isaiah 30:15

Pleasure, possessions, power, and privilege are ultimately worthless in comparison to the indescribable
joy of knowing GOD!!

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him,
and He shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5,6

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go:
I will guide thee with mine eye.
Psalm 32:8
