First, I want to thank all of you for those special comments and messages on the post of my son’s birthday. It encouraged me very much. Now, I hope you’ve all had a wonderful week. I know I’m a bit late in catching you up on last weekend’s news of the wedding, and my back up photography! Well, it certainly was beautiful, but, unfortunately, my photos did not turn out as I had hoped … outdoor weddings I do real well with, but indoors … well, I need more study on that aspect of it, with the lighting and all … I am determined, though, so don’t give up
on me! I’ll share a few photos that I did get, and not all necessarily of people either.
There was a relative of the bride’s family who was the ‘main’ photographer, and he requested that no one else be taking photos of the family when he was. I had to be very careful, so I was unable to get as many as I would have liked … and, I do understand about how a flash from another camera can mess up someone else’s images. All of that aside, we did have a lovely time. The day was very humid though, but I’m glad the sun was shining for the wedding. It had started out sort of stormy, and the electricity at the home, where the girls were getting ready, had gone out that morning … the bride was panicking! But, PTL, it came back on in time for everything to stay right on schedule.
I went over to their house around 10:00AM and took a few pictures of Danielle (bride), and the girls getting ready, also of the dress, which was beautiful, by the way. Once the girls were ready, we headed downtown to the State Capitol Building … a beautiful setting for a wedding, which went very well. Pictures were taken before, during, and after, so I squeezed in the best I could to get what I could. The cake was delicious, and the fruit basket was even better! It was a wonderful day for both Danielle and Tomy, their family and friends.
After the wedding, we left with some friends and had a delicious dinner at O’Charlie’s. We hadn’t eaten anything other than that bit of cake and fruit, so a hearty meal sounded like a good idea. We’ve never been there, and I had their Hawaiian Chicken dinner over rice, with vegies, and iced lemon water. I felt better after eating real food … my blood sugar had taken a dive after eating that cake! After dinner we said our goodbyes, and headed for home … it had been a long day.
On Sunday we awoke to a beautiful sunny morning, cool, and breezy. Went to church, and then out to a lite lunch with some friends. After that, my dear sweet husband decided to cart me off to the zoo for a few hours. I knew he was tired from the week before, but he insisted. So off we went. It was a bit crowded, but we still enjoyed ourselves, and the sun felt so good. Not many animals were out and about, or active … so we enjoyed the shark exhibit where they were swimming their little fins off … we even got to touch them! And of course, the koalas had to be napping when we were there … that was the main reason I wanted to go, but, at least I did get a photo of one sleeping in the branch of the eucalyptus tree. We left the zoo and went right next door to see the White River Gardens, and also, to see the butterflies … lots of people in with the butterfiles, and they seemed quite active. The garden itself was pretty empty … we just walked around enjoying the flowers and the lilly ponds! On our way out, we went through the gift shop there, and I found an adorable long wrap around skirt that I just couldn’t resist. Now, I don’t buy many clothes at all … I’m wanting to lose some weight and get in the ones I already have … but Lewis liked it too, and said, go ahead! I happily obliged!) I need to find a top to go with it, and I’m hoping I have something in my closet. Once we were done there we headed home, and he fell fast asleep, and slept soundly until Monday morning. He needed it after the hard work week he had.
As for the remainder of my week … I’ve had a couple of somewhat ‘lazy’ days here at home … I have done some catching up here on the computer, worked on editing photos, also did some laundry, and of course, chasing those dustbunnies … again! I just can’t seem to get rid of them! They insist on coming back! Lewis has worked hard again this week, and was to have gone to the jail to teach this past Tuesday evening, but the family is still very concerned about my father-in-law, O.P., so instead he went to spend some time with them both later that day on the way home from work. He also got together, again, with them to have dinner along with his 2 sisters on Thursday … it was a family meeting of sorts. Dad has been wandering around and getting lost in the retirement center. They (the retirement center) are talking of moving both Mom Betty, and Dad over to an area where there is more care, and where they can be watched more closely. When Lewis was there, he took Dad for a walk, and said he seemed a bit more alert, but we would so appreciate your continued prayers for him. He has his good days, and his not so good days.
Well, that’s all for now, all except for the photos … I just thought I’d catch you up on what my (last) weekend, and week has been like. We’ve had some very warm and muggy days here with temperatures near 90*! We’re also working over in the garden that we’re sharing … perfect weather for that!! Right! I’m anxious to start eating out of it … it’s coming along slowly, but all good things are worth waiting for! Lewis is having to work today, as well, so I’ll keep busy around home, getting ready for church tomorrow. We may try to go to the county fair later this evening, and visit Mom Betty and Dad.
So, what do you all have planned for the weekend? Hope you have a blessed one! Enjoy the ‘picture’ show!
Hugs ~ Deborah <><
This is the precious little flower girl, and the dress.
This is a close up of the detail of Danielle’s dress.
These are Danielle’s shoes, and when I was there, Tomy had this special
box sent over, and in it was this heart shaped pearl box,
which contained this beautiful pearl necklace.
A very special note came with it as well … whatever he wrote, it made her cry!
Random photo #1 … I couldn’t resist … I love the color!
The Bride, with two of her ‘ladies in waiting’, adding some final touches.
Random photo #2 …
This pink fingernail polish had an appropiate name for the occasion …
‘Wedded Bliss’!
This is the State House … the place where the wedding was held.
Final touches, and waiting to put on the dress.
Danielle, and her precious mom, Jeannie … a dear friend of mine …
this is the necklace that Tomy had sent to her earlier.
Before the wedding on the grand staircase …
some last minute photos before the ceremony.
This isn’t too clear, but I caught all of the ladies waiting upstairs looking
over, and down, where the wedding would take place.
The main flower arrangements.
Here comes the Bride …
A very patient little flower girl!
And finally, Mr. & Mrs. …
They exchanged their own wedding vows …
they were beautifully written!
A special photo of a special little lady.
The Cake!
A closer shot reveals the detail on the cake … it was delicious … three flavors in one …
creamy vanilla, chocolate, and … red velvet!
And here, oh, dear, he literally ‘stuffed’ a huge piece of it in her mouth!
Why do they do that?! Lewis was very nice to me!!
One of the healthy, and tasty fruit baskets …
Oh, yes, well, the big one here is mine …
but I think he wanted to bring the little one home! So did I!
This is the flower girls little brother. He really liked being with my husband.
The feeling was quite mutual!
Well, thank you for making it all the way down here,
and sharing in Tomy & Danielle’s wedding day!
This guy here was enjoying his time in the garden at the zoo,
but I’ll save those pictures for the next time.)
I’ve taken up way too much of your precious time for a Saturday!
But I do have a quick question before I go …
does anyone know what kind of bird this fellow is below.
He was foraging for food outside the zoo gates …
and not afraid of anyone … we were able to get quite close.
I’ve not seen one before.
He was mostly black, with a brown head, and I thought he was very pretty.
I bet Fwren would know! :o)
Till next time … be blessed, and have a wonderful weekend!

with a grateful heart and no one to thank.” — Christina Rossetti

:sunny: What absolutely gorgeous pictures you took!
They are just incredible!!
Sounds like you had been busy and sometimes we all just need a few lazy days!
Wishing you a blessed Saturday!
Oh Deb, the pictures are beautiful. I couldn’t believe it, as I slowly looked thru them I began to cry. I’ve done that at the last several weddings I’ve gone to but looking at pics of a wedding of someone I do not know and crying! Wow! Caught me off guard. Haven’t figured that one out.
As for the bird question, I do not have a clue but maybe if I guess a brown headed black bird I’ll be lucky with my intellectual guess. LOL
Have a great weekend my sweet friend. {{{HUGS}}} {{{HUGS}}}

Hello, Sweet Friend! It was nice reading and catching up with you a bit. I have missed you while away. ~~ We had an awesome time in Norway, and I will be working at getting more pictures up for people to see. What an incredible country! ~~ I love your pictures! What an eye you have for the special shots. I think anyone can stand a row up people up and take their pictures, but you have chronicled so much more than that. Your photos have emotion! I especially love the one the first one. The one of hubby and the little guy is so sweet, too. ~~ I have spent most of the day reading and puttering. I got some of my plants repotted, made something nice for lunch, and tried to get caught up with answering mail. I am still so tired! I will probably try for another early night. I guess I pushed myself quite a bit while we were away. It was lovely seeing new places, but it wasn’t HOME, y’know? When we finally got back around 1 AM on Friday morning, I have to say my own bed felt pretty wonderful! ~~ The young couple we went to Norway with sent us home with a cooler full of fresh caught fish and other groceries! What a blessing! ~~ Today is my youngest’s birthday! I am not even sure where she is, so we have not been able to talk on the phone. She and hubby are traveling. We did leave a message on her mobile. I hope she checks it. My baby is 25. It doesn’t seem possible! I have been thinking about the day she was born and how awesome it was when they put her in my arms. Such a miracle! ~~ Church tomorrow and then, hopefully another restful afternoon. I am thinking one more day of “early to beds” and I should be feeling more energetic. :sleepy: :sleepy: :sleepy: Love to you, Deborah!
So beautiful! What a dreamy wedding!
What a pretty wedding!! I love your pictures. The State House makes a grand backdrop. The bird is a Brown-headed Cowbird. They are rascals, they lay their eggs in other birds’ nests. I found one in a bluebird nest once and took it out. Their baby will get big and the other babies won’t make it.
Thanks for all your support…we got through the funeral okay although it was pretty difficult. But God really worked some miracles and we were able to give Ed’s dad a good send off.
:goodjob: Those were very nice pictures. I think my favorite is the one of your husband with the little one. They do look like good friends.
