Hello y’all … and Happy Fall! I hope you’ve all had a blessed week! Yes, I’ve been absent, but I have good reason! We’ve been pretty busy around here this week … counting and packing bars of soap, and getting ready for a fall festival at the apple orchard this weekend … a Scottish-Highlander Festival. The weather is going to be beautiful for it … for that, I am very grateful … it’s an outdoor show! We’ve also been hoping to get our car fixed … I was headed out to an appointment last Friday, and it started alright, but only for a few seconds … then all the lights on the dash flickered and everything just went dead! It wouldn’t start again … wouldn’t even make a sound. Well, we called to get it towed on Monday, and wouldn’t ya know it, the tow truck got here, and she started right up! We took it to the mechanics anyway, in hopes that they could fix it, but alas, she still starts up, and runs! They aren’t able to figure out the problem, which, they tell us, is most likely electrical, unless it is ‘messing’ up! So … we wait. They’ve had it all week, trying to see if it messes up again, but no … it still hasn’t … yet! Sounds funny, but we’re praying that it doesn’t start right now! They will have it until the end of the day, so, quick, say a prayer!! Anyway, Mom Betty and Pop were so sweet, and loaned us their car … that’s been a blessing this week with everything we’ve had to do! We did get a couple of games of Putt-Putt in this week, which was fun. I may try those go-carts next time, too!) Pretty soon, it’ll be to cold to enjoy those outdoor activities! I am hoping things will slow down a little bit this next week … I’d like to do more visiting to catch up, and also make it look a little more like Autumn around here! It can be a little hard to choose between rolling waves, and falling leaves, though!

Last Sunday, after church, we took a pot of soup, along with some other goodies, and went to visit Elizabeth, and her family. We had a wonderful time together, and she is doing better. Her treatments have been changed back to twice a week again, instead of every day! Things are moving along pretty well, but please, do keep her in your prayers. I spoke to Ian this week … he is moving to a house with some friends from church … and he said he doesn’t know when he’ll be back home here again. That’s been hard for me, but I know God has a plan and a purpose for his life … just listening to him, I can tell he is growing in the Lord, and is very happy … but he does miss us. I’m glad he’s in a good place with good friends! He is going to be coming for a visit for possibly both Thanksgiving, and Christmas … we can’t wait! We also want to go out there to visit and meet all his new friends … he’d like that very much. I also found out, this week, that a dear friend of mine has breast cancer. Information on her tests are still coming in, and I’ll share more later, but if you would, please remember her in prayer! It’s been a difficult week in many ways, but God is so full of grace and kindness towards us. How can I ever thank Him enough!
Well, that is what my week has been about, so I’ll end for now. I pray you all have a blessed Friday … we’ll be heading out to do some last minute errands, and stop in at a flea market, then head down to the orchard to set up for the festival. It’s going to be a busy three days for us here, but I’ll be back Monday to catch up with you all! Say a prayer for energy for me … that, I’ve been sorely lacking in this week! In the meantime, enjoy your Friday, and have a wonderful weekend! Oh, and if you get bored … here’s a little game to keep you occupied … after all, it is apple season, you know! Enjoy!Hugs,
~ Deborah <><
Your worst days are never so bad that you are beyond the reach of God’s grace.
And your best days are never so good that you are beyond the need of God’s grace. ~ Anonymous
God has a way of loving us and blessing us that is so much better than fair. Think of the ways God has blessed us that transcend what we deserve. Every good thing that has ever come to us is a gift of God’s grace. If you and I could ever stop being self-centered long enough to be honest, we would have to say that we are not entitled to any good thing. We have no right to demand anything. And the last thing we really want is for God to just be fair with us. What we want and what we need is grace, the love that is better than fair. And grace is exactly what we ultimately receive from the God who is better than fair, even when life is less than fair. ~ Charles E. Poole

I wish our kids would be under LAW that they cant move out of the same town as there parents!! Im sorry hunny, that your son is wanting to stay where he’s at. I dred…DRED it!! But I will make the most of what I have left with my son right now. He’s still claiming he wants to go live with his dad at Christmas
You sure do sound busy. That festival sounds like fun. I just did a story on a lady who teaches Highland step dancing and she says she and her students travel all over competing in those Scottish Highland festivals. I hope you sell mounds of soup this weekend.
The weather here is quite wet here, and will be all weekend, I fear. We were supposed to have a big parade for our town’s 375th anniversary, but I don’t know if that will be happening.
:wave:love the blue glass jars…..i just bought some lovely rose and lavender soap for gifts…. it smells so nice…hope you have good weather and loads of sales this weekend!!!!! Blessings on you, friend!!!
Just stopping by to say hi! Blessings to you, Deborah! ~ Chris
:sunny:Good Morning Sweet Friend!:heartbeat:……….ryc: I used a local Photographer who is friends of some of my Church family.
She does have a web : http://www.mysace.com/Lynnphotography .
We are very pleased with this second book. Both poof books together had 68 pics of proofs to look at. She was very reasonable. She charged $150.00 for the indoor and outdoor sitting fee, With as many changes of background and clothing and anything else he wanted in the pics at no additional cost. Plus the proof books were $225.00, together. That money all went to the package I picked, wich had 1-8×10, 2-5x7s, 4-4x6s or 4-4X5s and than 25 wallets of each pose =100…….when all done final cost plus 10% discount for ordering within 2 weeks of receiving books……$15.16!!!:yes:I thought this was very reasonable. Plus she took Jess for the outdoor pics wherever he wanted to go. Those were all taken down in WestPort here downtown K.C.Mo.
So glad you heard form Ian,…..Praying for him and Elizabeth. We have a good friend who has cancer of the lungs and liver. She has been going chemo now for two months because it is unoperatable. She was telling us Sunday that the one tumor is completely gone and the other has shrunk so fast the Doctor is Amazed! We can do all things through Christ!Amen!:sunny:
Hope you and Lew have a Great weekend. I plan on leaving later today with a couple of girlfriends who are both single Mom’s and we are going to the Extraodinary Women Conference here in Raytown. It is about 30 minutes away. But we decided to get a Hotel room and we are going to spend some Girl time together. I will be back tomorrow night. Wish you could be joining us!………Enjoy this Beautiful weather and we are going to have to plan on meeting in person sometime in the near future with our Hubbies, too. ((((((Hugs))))))) Love You Sweet Friend and know that you have a deep Sister core with me in Christ!……..Have an Awesome Day!……..In Christ’s Love…..Monic

Happy Fall to you, too! :sunny: You’re a busy lady … happy to hear the good news you’ve shared, and will be praying for your friend (and your energy!).
Deborah,
You are a busy little bee. I hope your fall festival goes well. If I lived closer, I’d visit you and stock up on your lovely soaps.
I’m so glad Elizabeth is doing better. Thank you for keeping us posted.
Gina
I saw an ad for the festival, I wish I could come! I’ll have to see how the weekend goes. I came down with a cold yesterday and I don’t feel so hot. I’m glad your son is coming home for the holidays! I don’t think Rob will be able to come home until Christmas but we are going to go and visit him sometime early November. And I hope we can make a trip up to Chicago to see the newlyweds. I am really lonely for them all! Have a great weekend!
I love that last quote. So true! I guess you have been busy but I’m glad you’ve taken the time to see all the good along the way and the humor in the car problems. I hope their able to find the problem and fix it! Still Praying for Elizabeth, for Ian, and for your friend also. I hope you have a GREAT Friday too!
Hello, Friend! I have been missing you! I have pictures up on my site of our visit with the kids. I will post more from time to time. ~~ I do hope your sale goes GREAT! Sell ALL your soap!
Car troubles can be so aggravating! I spent all one Winter riding around with my feet on ice because there was a leak in our car, so water would come in and freeze on the floor! We finally traded that car in! :goodjob: Things are busy here and I am behind in all the work I put off while Craig and Abby were here. I have TWO Bible lessons to prepare for this weekend, a cake to bake for cell group tonight, letters to answer, cleaning to do, counseling appointments to schedule, book to work on, and PILES of laundry! If we just had energy to match our work load we would be in good shape, huh? I know you are going to take some awesome pictures this weekend, and I look forward to seeing them. Thanks for the update on Elizabeth. BIG HUGS FROM DENMARK!
Sorry I can’t respond to all of your blog here but I wanted to at least say hello my sweet friend. Look forward to hearing about your busy 3 days at the outdoor fair.
Talk to you soon
