As I look back on the years,
I realize there have been so many times

Weekend Update: Hope you’ve all had a wonderful weekend! We had a great day with the family yesterday … Lewis’ brother, in from Utah, cooked a garlic pepper roast, broasted mixed garden vegetables, and organic brown rice … and for dessert, his sister, in from Texas, baked a homemade German Chocolate cake with that yummy coconut pecan icing … it was all so delicious! We all had seconds!
We spent time just sharing, laughing, and I listened as they remembered old times when they were all young … like the time his sister put their bird in the washing machine because she thought it needed a bath (it survived!), or when his brother had a bag of broken glass that he had collected, and told Lewis it was ‘diamonds’ … well, what little boy wouldn’t want a bag of ‘diamonds’? So, he paid his big brother his week’s allowance to have that bag of ‘broken glass’! So many other stories that top those were shared … just wish I had taken notes!
Later in the afternoon, ‘Mom’ Betty had to meet with the doctor, so when they were gone to that, we all pitched in, and cleaned their home … the guys vacuumed, and washed windows … the ladies dusted straightened, and caught up on their laundry. By the time they got back from the appointment, the house was clean, and ‘Mom’ Betty said it was “sparkling”! We wanted to get that done because Dad’s sister, and her daughter, are coming in this afternoon to spend a couple of days with them. Mom and Dad were both so pleased, and seemed to feel so much better! We were all happy that they enjoyed the day! I have a few pictures to share that I’ll post soon. I wasn’t able to upload the picture I wanted to share of us on our wedding day, o’ so many years ago … I’m working on that! I’ll try to be around to visit later today … have to start packing soap for another show this coming weekend, and hubby is taking me out for the evening! It’s his turn to surprise me! I’m clueless! In the meantime, you all have a wonderful Monday, be blessed, and if any of you have an interesting little story from your childhood, do please share!

ryc: the fires are now contained — there is a defensible line around each of them. It will take a little longer for them to be “out,” but they are no longer raging and out of control. The winds are quiet now, though we are to expect another round in the next day or two — this time just gusts to 40 mph, as opposed to the previous 100 mph! They just announced that one of the bigger ones was started by a young boy playing with matches! I’m about 500 miles from where tonight’s earthquake was — a little too far for me to feel it. It sounds like store shelves were shaken empty, but they haven’t said anything about other damage — hopefully there wasn’t any. Hope everybody stays safe!

I would rather burn a WoodWick that a PartyLite jar candle! :yes: I love PartyLite’s decor and the candles to go with them, but for a jar candle, I very much prefer the WoodWick! They’re clean burning and so homey with the fire crackling sound! Just love em! I wish I could sell them in parties! I’d be doing it! But all I can do is just be ab affiliate and promote their website. I do get a small percent of orders placed by clicking on the ads on my site. So if ya wanna try em, go for it!

I’m surprised the bird lived after her washing machine experience. I gave my pet chicken a bath one time in a small pan. Her feathers were all wet and sticking to her–I didn’t know if she was going to make it. After drying off, she looked much better. What we don’t do a kids! Nice to hear about your family oriented weekend. Interesting that you should mention sharing childhood memories. When my daughter was here over a year ago she brought a large blank book. She wants me and her dad to write in it about our childhood memories and about the family. I finally started this weekend. :love:

:sunny:Good Morning Sweet Lady! Sounds like a very fun weekend for you all! Fun memory of my childhood is when we decided to sleep in a very old house on my parents property, because it was said to be haunted and it was just old and worn out. But my Brothers half way through the night got sooo scared they went inside the regular house and left my friend and I out there to our selves………..The noise they kept hearing was a coon in the corn field!
