FLIGHT PLAN DELAY …..
See below the UPDATE for the UP-UPDATE!!Thank you Christi for sending Laurie over with a weather report in Chicago … and thank you, Laurie! And yes, things have changed! Ian’s original flight from San Jose into Chicago was cancelled due to the winter storm! They gave him a cab ticket for free fare from San Jose to San Francisco where they re-routed him to Dallas/Ft. Worth, where he only has a 10 minute layover … we are hoping that he makes it to the connecting flight into Indianapolis, as 10 minutes is not alot of time to get off one flight and onto another … so he did ask us to be praying for him! If all goes well, we should see him around 11:00PM tonight! We’re getting ready to go run some quick errands, and get a bite to eat … then off to the airport to pick up our precious cargo! I’ll let you all know how things went later tonight … or, in the wee hours of the mornin’! I hope to have pictures, as well! I pray you’re all safe with the bad weather we’ve had! I appreciate and love you all so much for your thoughts and prayers … and friendship!
Hugs,
~ Deborah <><
P.S. Those of you with the snow … send some my way!……AND NOW, FOR THE UP-UPDATE!!
Well, the drama has switched channels, and now, as the evening so goes … we ran our errands, one of which was that we had our car at the mechanics today, and we needed to pick that up. The repair bill was minimal … and that was a blessing! We came back home, with about an hour to spare before heading to the airport … while we were here, Ian called at around 9:30PM … and, unfortunately, he missed that connecting flight from Dallas/Ft. Worth to Indy!
The plane he flew in on was only three minutes late, nevertheless; he stood and watched the one he was supposed to be on, taxi down the runway!
Well, quite a few other people missed that flight, as well, and since there are no other ones leaving tonight, they put them up in a hotel until the next flight out, which will be around 7:00AM in the morning … and then, providing that one doesn’t get delayed, he should be in Indy around 10:00AM! Another problem now presents itself … Lewis is supposed to be working on a job about an hour and 1/2 south of us tomorrow, so he has to change his whole schedule for the day, as well! He really does want to go with me to pick Ian up, so if you would, please pray for both Ian, and for things to go well at work until Lewis gets there later in the morning!*I’ve just spoken with Ian … and he’s settled in for the night, so now, I’ve gotten into my comfy jammies, and I’m enjoying a nice hot cup of tea, then it’s off to bed to get some sleep before tomorrow. Do any of you have a ‘flight plan’ story to share?? To be continued …
Deborah <><
I pray that everyone is okay after the storms blew through! I’ve been praying especially for those in Arkansas and Tennessee! The tornado sirens went off here in our county … we had a lot of high winds and a whole lot of rain … my backyard looks like a pond … and if it freezes, maybe we can go ice skating! The temperature is supposed to drop tomorrow and then snow … hmm, we’ll see! There is so much water coming through the pipes in the basement that our sump pump is working overtime … I’m praying it doesn’t quit working … that would be a mess! We have so many things stored there that we don’t want to get ruined! I may be up for awhile checking on it from time to time!
TODAY IS THE DAY WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!! Yesterday I cleaned and did laundry … got things ready for Ian’s homecoming later tonight! He leaves California around 1:00PM his time ( which is 4:00PM our time ) … and has a connecting flight in Chicago, with a 2 hour layover. They are predicting snow in that area, and I know O’Hare is backed up now from the fog they just had … so, your prayers are much appreciated for safe travels for him! If all goes well, we should be seeing him at 10:55PM tonight! Does anyone know how I can find out online what the flight delays would be if there is bad weather? He’s flying in on American Airlines, and I’m hoping to have an idea, by later today, if there will be any changes as to the arrival time of his flight.
We’ve made some plans while he is here through the 18th, but he did say that he just wants a few days to rest! That’s not a problem with me! I’ll have his company!
) He is going to be filming a friend’s wedding on Saturday, and I was hoping to go and do some of the photography for practice, and just to bless the couple, but, tentatively, we have a show scheduled this weekend. Ian and I would both need a car that day, and my hubby is still working for Tim’s dad trying to get caught up, so things are sort of up in the air! I really would love to go to the wedding with my son and help out … but then there’s the show on Saturday! What to do?!! We’ll talk about it on Thursday, once he’s had some time to rest … I’m sure it will all work out! Do you ever wish there were two of you?!!
There are a lot of great faces this week over in the contest at iliveinmycamera! Be sure to stop in and vote for the ‘Friendliest’! Well, I had better get some sleep so I can be up and at ‘em later this morning … but first, I’d better check that sump pump! Where did they ever come up with a name like ‘sump pump’? What’s the ‘sump’ in the pump? Question of the day!! Or, we could say … ‘what’s sump’!! Oh goodness, it’s late isn’t it!! :o) Have a wonderful Wednesday, and since it’s a great day for worship, as is everyday, take just a few minutes here to watch this video from GodTube … and I pray your heart is blessed as you, ‘wait upon the Lord’!
Hugs,
~ Deborah <><Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord
We will wait upon the Lord
We will wait upon the Lord
Our God, You reign forever
Our hope, our Strong Deliverer
You are the everlasting God

You do not faint
You won’t grow weary
Our God, You reign forever
Our hope, our Strong Deliverer

You do not faint
You won’t grow weary
You’re the defender of the weak
You comfort those in need
You lift us up on wings like eagles

Oh, I’d love to see pictures! Have a nice time with Ian!
I was posting a new post when you commented, so you can come back.
What an “adventure”! Hope the rest goes smoothly.
Hi there! Prayin’ Ian gets in safely and that you have a great time with him while he’s there!
Love your pic on Betsaflygallery!
(((HUGS)))
hope ans flight is on time i love you muchly love you lotts love shelly.
I have flown quite a bit, so I have several stories. I was bumped off a plane in DC when visiting Josh while we were still dating. (He was living with his brother for the summer to do an internship in DC). Anyway, my flight was late at night and I was bumped to a 6:00 a.m. flight, but also was put up in a hotel. The drive back to Josh’s brother’s was too long to make it worthwhile. My parents were NOT happy with me staying in a hotel room by myself, but also did not want Josh staying with me (of course!!) I ended up staying by myself, but did not sleep well AT ALL!! But I did make my flight in the morning.
Another time about two years ago in Chicago, they were having problems with their scanner for the checked bags and we waited in line after line after line with a small, hungry, cranky toddler. we finally got checked in hours after our flight was to leave. We were told we couldn’t get back out until Monday (the next day) in the afternoon. I had to call my mom during a church service to come back and get us. Of course, our luggage was already gone… so we had no clean clothes, contact solution, glasses, etc. for the next day. I carry those on now.
Ah, sorry he is having such a time! I have had that happen a couple of times. The first time I ever flew, actually, from Indy to Texas, weather cancelled or delayed the flight and I spent the night in a hotel, and my parents drove on back home. Then flying the reverse another time, same thing, an ice storm caused me to spend the night, and my brother had already dropped me off and left me (I wasn’t too happy with him!) Both times I didn’t sleep too well, afraid I would miss the flights. And I think both times they put me in first class! Hope your son gets home this time!! Have fun.
Awww Sweetie! I hope everything works out today! Praying! ((((HUGS))))…………In Christ’s Love…..Monic:love:
I hope as I type this that your sweet boy is there with you. If not, he is on his way! What a wonderful blessing! Having just had my own adventures on airplanes, I can only say that God is in control! *** We spoke to our newly married daughter yesterday, and I guess the last part of their honeymoon she came down with the flu. Poor baby! I guess Craig is already learning about that “in sickness and in health” part of the vows! She also contracted strep throat with ear infections, so she has been very sick indeed. I plan to call again later today and see how she is feeling. If you would like to see a video clip of the wedding go here http://www.craigrbrotherston.blogspot.com/ *** I hope your sump pump keeps on pumping. ***We are actually getting some sunshine here today in dark ol’ Denmark! I suddenly have a desire to wash windows! Too funny! I hope the sun stays all day so I can go for a walk later. *** Blessings to you, dear friend. Enjoy your time with Ian. I know everything will work out and it will be great. Love you!
I know you are excited about your son coming home!!! What a wonderful celebration! I pray all is well…….have a wonderful time with him!
I enjoyed that video so much Deborah. Thanks for sharing. I got to hear that song in concert…. what an awesome singer/composer… Chris Tomlin.
Have a good week. I hope it’s warmer there than here. Very cold and windy here in Arkansas.

This nasty weather…you can check out Chicago weather on my blog! Dallas is much safer today! Your prayers were answered!
I am glad his flight was canceled to O’Hare. Keep us posted. I added you to my protected list. I would love to get to know you better!!
Hello!! Christi sent me over here…the roads around here are horrible. The NW suburbs, including O’Hare are almost white out conditions. His flight will most likely be canceled or delayed. The storm is supposed to end tonight, but the effects will be long lingering. Have a blessed day, and I will be praying for your son.
All is well here in TN after all the storms. I love those verses. Our God… never faints or grows tired! He is the Everlasting God!
That kind of gives a person some strength, don’t it.
 decisions decisions!!:fun: I would have a hard time decideing between thw two also

You can just check his flight status on the American Airlines Web site. You should be able to put in his flight number and find out.
I’m happy for you that you get to see your boy tonight. I know you are very excited. Enjoy your son’s company! :sunny:
You can probably just google in American Airlines, then there should be a place to check flight status’ and it will tell you. Saying a prayer right now that he gets in safely!
:sunny:Good Morning Sweet Deborah! praying all goes well with Ian’s flight! Hope you all have a Wonderful Wednesday! ((((((Hugs)))))………..In Christ’s Love……Monic:heartbeat:
