    REFLECTIONS

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
    - Psalm 23:5 –

God calls me to do something, and I begin with enthusiasm.
But as some point my fervor fades, and my dedication dissipates.
I find I’ve very little left to give.
Perhaps it’s because I’ve been neglecting being filled.
    David said, ‘My cup overflows.’

It is difficult to find your cup overflowing
if you do not intentionally hold your cup under the outpouring of God.

All too often, we ask the Lord why we feel empty, or why we don’t see His fruits,
or why we don’t feel His presence, or His power, or understand His purpose.
    All too often, we struggle to find His will and wonder what we’re missing;
all the while we have yet to diligently seek Him with a whole heart.
We are like a man who eats nothing all day and wonders why he is hungry the next morning.
But God is faithful, and ‘He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.’
Are you empty inside?  Seek the Lord diligently and with all your heart.

‘Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness,
    for they shall be filled.’
    - Matthew 5:6 -

Hope you all have a beautiful, and blessed day!
    Hugs ~ Deborah <><

  • Deborah,

Amen and Amen! God is so faithful and loving. Our cup does overflow with blessings when we keep our eyes on Him. If we focus on our trials and tribulations, we miss out on God’s blessings. A peaceful heart is worth far more than anything the world can offer.

    Blessings to your day!

  • I loved this post!  I love the third paragraph.  I read that and a light bulb flickered on in my mind and heart.  I have been struggling lately being content in the Lord and really been convicted in my views of how I measure the Lord blessing me.  Thank you for sharing this because I really needed to hear it.  Thank you for letting the Lord use you.

  • Do you remember that chorus we use to sing…

“Fill my cup Lord, I lift it up Lord. ….” Wish I could remember all the words. I might need to call my brother.

  • Super Great post!!! I needed to read that this morning. God bless

  • Sorry I haven’t been around much. We’ve been busy with visitors and such.

“His grace is sufficient for me…” Whenever I feel like too much is going on, I try to pray that verse.

  • :goodjob:  Amen.  Love it.

God’s presence isn’t a drive-thru service…. it takes time, dedication, worship, and studying His Word……..

  • We had a pastor who used to say, “Get under the spout where the glory comes out!” Seems like a pretty good idea to be filled over and over. I love how the Amplified emphasizes “continously” in this verse!

Joh 7:38 He who believes in Me [who cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Me] as the Scripture has said, From his innermost being shall flow [continuously] springs and rivers of living water.

Guess what! Our oldest daughter is buying us a camera! I am so excited! Every time it is a special holiday like our birthdays, or Mother’s day or whatever, she puts some money into an account for us. Isn’t she a sweetie? We spoke with her on the phone this week, and she told us how much she has saved for us! WOW! :fun:  We have enough to get a nice camera that is on sale this week. It will have a 10x zoom, too! I should be able to get some REAL close ups! Now I just have to learn to use it. Since a wonderul Xanga friend also bought me premium, I will be able to post ENDLESS pictures! LOL!

Still waiting for rain here, which is a very big change from the usual waiting for it to STOP raining! In the almost eight years we have lived here, I have never seen brown grass before. The wheat in the fields looks brown, too. Not good.

My sweet little tootie has chicken pox, and she is very miserable. I think her mommy is going to bring her over here later. Poor little tyke! She is very, very itchy!

  • :sunny:Good Morning Sweet Deborah! Well God has been faithful as promised. I didn’t have to go speak to my Manager yesterday but instead He opened opportunity to sit and talk with my Supervisor and we talked everything out from my concerns to why she has me still training in the other area. To when I will be back to what is my normal areas to work. And she said that by the end of this month I will be done! Praise God!……….I now can do this other area by memory!……She couldn’t believe it. But God is good! By His Grace , I was determine to learn it to show her I wouldn’t need that much time over there!Ha!……………..Thank You for praying! I love His Word of comfort that when two or more are gathered in My Name…….I hope you are having a Wonderful week so far and that you have a Terrific Tuesday! quote and verse

Faith expects from God what is beyond all expectation.
- Andrew Murray -

God often comes to us,
not in dramatic and the spectacular,
but in quiet, unexpected ways ...
In a still, small voice,
a gentle whisper,
God makes known His love.

In quietness and trust
is your strength.
Isaiah 30:15

Pleasure, possessions, power, and privilege are ultimately worthless in comparison to the indescribable
joy of knowing GOD!!

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him,
and He shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5,6

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go:
I will guide thee with mine eye.
Psalm 32:8
