The Blessing of the Father’s Love
The greatest gift I ever had came from God;
I call him Abba Father … Daddy!

I read a couple of Father’s Day’s posts yesterday that really touched my heart … I shared a little of this with them. As a young girl, I didn’t really get to know my earthly father, or to learn much of his love … he died when I was only 8 … my childhood had been somewhat turbulent. I never knew the love of a father here on earth, the kind a young child’s heart so longs for. But God …… He has been the One to show me what a Father’s love truly means over the years … and what a young child’s heart means to His. He is a Father of gentleness, knowing my every hurt … a Father of tender affection, seeing my every tear … a Father of protection, when I’m afraid, He gathers me into His arms and carries me close to His heart. I want to know Him more, love Him more. His love is immeasurable, beyond what I could ever imagine, never growing weary or tired of my failings, seeing, and understanding all. He is the giver of good gifts … in His love there is strength … He delights in me … He rejoices over me with singing. Yes, I may have missed out on the love of an earthly father, but what God has given me today is far more precious than I could have ever asked for … and you know, there’s more!! How can I help but to delight in Him … to rejoice in my Heavenly Father this day …. every day!
Today, I thank my Father, my Pappa, my Daddy, that ….
“I am graven on the palms of His hands. I am never out of His mind. All my knowledge of Him depends on His sustained initiative in knowing me. I know Him, because He first knew me, and continues to know me. He knows me as a friend, One who loves me; and there is no moment when His eye is off me, or His attention distracted for me, and no moment, therefore, when His care falters.” ~ James I. Packer
I pray you all have a wonderful Father’s Day, loving all those fathers and daddys out there, but most importantly, enjoying God’s ever precious love for you … the love that He so willingly, and freely gave! Be blessed today, for you truly are!
