The Blessing of the Father’s Love

    The greatest gift I ever had came from God;
I call him Abba Father … Daddy!
    - Author Unknown

I read a couple of Father’s Day’s posts yesterday that really touched my heart … I shared a little of this with them.  As a young girl, I didn’t really get to know my earthly father, or to learn much of his love … he died when I was only 8 … my childhood had been somewhat turbulent.  I never knew the love of a father here on earth, the kind a young child’s heart so longs for.  But God …… He has been the One to show me what a Father’s love truly means over the years … and what a young child’s heart means to His.  He is a Father of gentleness, knowing my every hurt … a Father of tender affection, seeing my every tear … a Father of protection, when I’m afraid, He gathers me into His arms and carries me close to His heart.  I want to know Him more, love Him more.  His love is immeasurable, beyond what I could ever imagine, never growing weary or tired of my failings, seeing, and understanding all.  He is the giver of good gifts … in His love there is strength … He delights in me … He rejoices over me with singing.  Yes, I may have missed out on the love of an earthly father, but what God has given me today is far more precious than I could have ever asked for … and you know, there’s more!!  How can I help but to delight in Him … to rejoice in my Heavenly Father this day …. every day!

Today, I thank my Father, my Pappa, my Daddy, that ….

“I am graven on the palms of His hands.  I am never out of His mind.  All my knowledge of Him depends on His sustained initiative in knowing me.  I know Him, because He first knew me, and continues to know me.  He knows me as a friend, One who loves me; and there is no moment when His eye is off me, or His attention distracted for me, and no moment, therefore, when His care falters.”
    ~ James I. Packer

I pray you all have a wonderful Father’s Day, loving all those fathers and daddys out there, but most importantly, enjoying God’s ever precious love for you … the love that He so willingly, and freely gave!  Be blessed today, for you truly are!

  • A xanga team member told me to make the themes using foxfire browser. IE won’t work. Maybe sometime xanga will be able for us to use both.  I just have to be careful what I do so it will be compatable with both.  I have learned not to hit share it till I look at the theme with both browsers. Using the header module is the hardest. It will change on me. I am still working on all the bugs but I am starting to get it.  God bless, Sharon

They tell us that we have a lot comming this week here in New York.  The floods and weather has been bad, my heart cries for all the people now out of a home or worse. I pray for them all.

I love comming here, the music, the words that you write, there’s just so much peace.    I too thank our heavenly father for His love, Where would we be without Him?  Well, Praise God we don’t have to worry about that.

  • :sunny:Thank You Sweet Friend for your wonderful post today! This deeply touches my heart. I had an earthly father. But was never close to him. The only touches that I received were through physical abuse and verbal abuse as well……Please keep in mind I am not asking for anyone to feel sorry for me. This was part of the past that I have learned to let go and forgive. I had moved out at the age of 18 from their house in order to escape from all of the pain. He passed away 8 years ago.
And God, Our Father has been with me through it all and has given me more Spiritual love than I could ever imagine since I received Him in my life 15 years ago. So thank You as I read this it confirms everything that He has done in my life and when He carried my burdens, too. Hope your day is Blessed and Lewis has a Wonderful Father’s Day! ((((((Hugs))))))……..In Christ’s Love…..Monic:heartbeat::love::heartbeat::wave:

quote and verse

Faith expects from God what is beyond all expectation.
- Andrew Murray -

God often comes to us,
not in dramatic and the spectacular,
but in quiet, unexpected ways ...
In a still, small voice,
a gentle whisper,
God makes known His love.

In quietness and trust
is your strength.
Isaiah 30:15

Pleasure, possessions, power, and privilege are ultimately worthless in comparison to the indescribable
joy of knowing GOD!!

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him,
and He shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5,6

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go:
I will guide thee with mine eye.
Psalm 32:8
