    Girl and cat

The leaves have all but blanketed the ground here … winter is well on it’s way!  It has been beautiful here … although today, it was gray, rainy, very cool, and getting colder!  We may even see some snow, come tomorrow!  As for now, I’ve been preparing this week for another craft show on Saturday.  We loaded the van then headed to the school to set up earlier this evening.  They gave us two hours tonight, and then we’ll get two more hours in the morning before the doors open from 9:00AM to 4:00PM.  It’s usually very busy, and we’re pretty tired by the time we load up again to head home.  I am looking forward to it, though, and praying for a prosperous day!  It was raining ‘cats and dogs’ when we got there to unload … not very pleasant, and besides, soap and water don’t mix!  I had everything pretty well protected, and we got in and set up in less than two hours this time!  I have a few small things to finish up and I’ll have ample time to do that in the morning!  It will be a good day. come rain, or shine … or maybe even a little snow!

I mentioned cats above … well, we have a kitten that has come to live on our porch!  She has some very pretty markings, is very loving, and she really seems to like it here.  I’ve been feeding her, and slowly introducing her to the ‘Moosh’, our indoor cat, through a crack in the door … they’ve exchanged ‘paws’, and Moosh seems to be slowly warming up to her, although there have been a few hissing sounds from him!  I tell him he needs to be nice, and I can tell she doesn’t seem to mind his presence at all … in fact, she seems as if she’d like to come in and play!  I’d like to get her de-fleaed, and de-wormed (if she has any), also those necessary shots, then bring her in as an indoor cat … I’m hoping Moosh will take to her … if not, my sister is more than willing to give her a home … and she’d still be in the family!  But, I do so want to keep her for myself!!  I’ve become attached … and that can be a dangerous thing!

I am concerned about a few other things … such as whether or not a 2 cat litter-box is a good thing … or, should I have one for each of them?  And, Moosh is on a special diet, so how would I keep her from eating his food … or him from eating her kitten food?!  How DO you introduce a new kitten into the home where there is already a ‘seasoned’ cat!  Just some things to ponder!  If anyone has any hints, tips, or suggestions … well, you know where the comment box is!  :o )

We do live next to a busy road, and we have had a puppy run out and get hit … also another little kitten that came to our porch a few years ago was found in the road by my husband … so sad!  This one seems to stay close around the house, the other one did not, so if you would, pray that she continues to do that, until we can get her into the vet!  I did notice today, that she loves to just sit in the rain … contemplating.  Hmmm, ‘cat contemplations’ … wonder what she’s thinking?!  I’ve given her a funny little nick-name … well, ‘Mooshie’ is a funny name, so I thought why break tradition!   We call her ‘Pookie’ … really!   She comes running when you call her that!  Mooshie and Pookie … oh dear!  What have I gotten myself into!  Lots of kitty-joy, I do think!  Pray that all these concerns that I have will be worked out … I know once he gets used to her, Moosh will have someone to keep him company when we’re away.  ‘It is not good for cat to be alone’!

I did take some photos of her yesterday … she’s a bit camera shy, and wouldn’t sit still for me, so I did the best I could … not sure how they turned out yet … going to see now!  Once we get her in here with the Moosh, ‘Betsy and Benjie’ may have some blog competition here!  They are a couple of really cool cats who have lots of fun together over on
Linda’s site!  They are related and get along very well … so, I’m hoping M & P will learn to get along, too!  Here are the photos … you can see why I’m just a little bit attached, now can’t you?!!

Not too sure how happy this one will be, though!
That ‘look’ should give me some indication …
    don’t you think?!

‘Awww, but, Moosh … how can you resist my big golden eyes?!’
She had just come out of a corner in the garage,
where she discovered some cobwebs …
you can faintly see them on the right side of her face.
    Curious kitty!  Aren’t they all!

Okay … that’s certainly enough for now … let me know what you think of her!  It’s late, and I need to get some sleep before morning!  In the meantime, you all have a wonderful weekend … mine will, again, be busy and full, but I’ll get around to check in with you all very soon!

    Smilie CatHugs & blessings!

  • Deborah, what a God thing…I was just thinking about you as I checked my subscriptions and saw a comment from you .  Glad to hear you’re doing well, albiet busy.  Thank you so much for your kind words and prayer.   What beautiful cats!  I’ve had many cats most of my life.  Be careful introducing them….do it slowly.  We’ve put one cat in a bedroom with the door closed and then let the older cat sniff the other under the door and introduce them slowly.  Once that get over the hissing and running away, they, hopefully will be great friends and company for each other.  Have a very blessed evening and thank you so much for your stopping by and offering encourging words.  Love, Jill

  • Your pictures are really good of your kitties. I like your new background. I use to love to go to the covered bridge festival when I lived in Indiana. I miss a lot of things about home but alas I have a new home now. I try to make the best of it. I bet you have some good smelling soap. Is soap all you sell at your booth? Good luck. Have a great week.  Blessing to you, Charlene

  • Deborah,

Your kitty is beautiful! I’m sorry I don’t have any kitty advice. I hope it all works out for you.

    Blessings,

    Gina

  • :sunny:here’s for a great show…and a wonderful weekend….even if it snows

  • Oh, she’s beautiful! A brindled Calico. If she had no white, she’d be a tortoise shell cat.

We are a 26 cat household. They don’t all stay inside, but most do. They will get use to each other. They would eventually use the same litter box, but it would be good to have 2. When my son and DIL brought their second kitty into the house, the first hissed for a short time, but now they are best buds.

  • I would take her!  She is beautiful!  I love calico cats!  I hope you do well at your show!  Have a wonderful weekend come rain or snow!

  • OH MY WORD!!!! She looks JUST like my sisters cat, bebemonkey!!!! She lives in texas and her kitten LOVES to go outside. My sister would rather have her be an indoor cat but bebemonkey rushes out the door before she knows she gets out. Do you live in Texas? Anyway, if not, and it’s not bebemonkey, then you can keep her. We’ve had two cats for many years and it’s not hard at all to introduce them. And most times, it will take a little bit for them to adjust to eachother. There might be some hissing and spitting for a while, but that will settle down. Two litter boxes is a must for two cats. LOL. I just keep looking at her and am amazed at how much she looks like bebemonkey.

  • Both Mooshie and Pookie have beautiful eyes. It makes me sad because I like cats but have developed a severe allergy to them. Last weekend I was in someone’s house and the cat was not even present and I was only there about half an hour and did not sit down but had to get out because my chest started to tighten up and I got that asthmatic cough. Took over an hour to recover.

Hope the sale goes well this weekend.
We are baking cookies for a Christmas bazaar.

  • :sunny:Good Morning Sweet Friend! Praying for a Great day for your sale! Pookie is a Cutie! ……..I think the Moosh will be a little jealous!………….Hope all works out for the two of them………She is different in her pattern on her coat!……Two cats are fine but more work. When I had two cats, I had two cat boxes. it helps in giving them their own space. She looks like she will keep you enetertained and the Moosh as well!……….Hope you have a Wonderful weekend and a Blessed Sunday! ((((Hugs))))……..In Christ’s Love…….Monic:heartbeat::love::heartbeat::wave:

  • I hope people are just going to go crazy for your soap today, my dear friend! I remember getting set up for sales. I always loved meeting all the people when I used to do that. I only did a few shows before Christmas. I pray God will make your booth irresistable!

Pookie does have a beautiful face. I had a kitty similar to her when I was growing up, but she had a yellow spot on her forehead that looked kind of like a star, so of course, we named her Star. She popped out many litters of kitties, and didn’t mind having an audience, so she gave me and the neighborhood kids quite an education! LOL! I do pray your Pookie will be safe and that you can convince Moosh to accept her.

It’s dark and rainy here, too. I haven’t been out with my camera in ages. I miss it!

    Blessings on your busy weekend!

  • Aw, you definitely have been “cat-nipped” by this little one. I’ve never seen such a color of eyes before. They are pretty, and make her seem especially an autumn-y feline! She’s a pretty one, for sure… and hopefully Mooshie will fall for her, too! We’ll pray that way! Have a blessed weekend… Love in Christ… Carolyn

quote and verse

Faith expects from God what is beyond all expectation.
- Andrew Murray -

God often comes to us,
not in dramatic and the spectacular,
but in quiet, unexpected ways ...
In a still, small voice,
a gentle whisper,
God makes known His love.

In quietness and trust
is your strength.
Isaiah 30:15

Pleasure, possessions, power, and privilege are ultimately worthless in comparison to the indescribable
joy of knowing GOD!!

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him,
and He shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5,6

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go:
I will guide thee with mine eye.
