    Pic Christmas Tree Snow

    I hope you all had a blessed weekend!  I want to thank everyone for your comments, and prayers!  The show was a bit slow over the weekend, but I’m so thankful for every dollar we made.  There was a good crowd, especially on Saturday, just not alot of people buying … could it be the economy?!!!  Hmmm, yes!!  I can’t blame people for holding onto their money a bit tighter these days … we are cutting way back ourselves, being wise stewards with the money God blesses us with, and He always sees that we have what we need!  I’m still selling the soap/candles at the antique mall, and hubby is doing fairly well with his coins and coin supplies there, as well.  We don’t have another ‘road’ show now until mid-February, so we can finally concentrate on the much needed work that we need to get done around home here!  I’m ready for a good ’spring-cleaning’ myself, but it doesn’t look like spring is on the way, just yet!  It’ll have to be a good ’mid-winter’ cleaning!  We are expecting a winter storm over the next couple of days, and I, for one, am excited about finally getting a good amount of snow!  We’ve heard this before, and it only ends up to be a ‘dusting’, but this time, I’m a bit more hopeful!  I’ll let you know!

    My hubby’s ankle, and knee were both doing better, until that is, he decided to move some boxes yesterday as we were packing up!  His ankle was quite sore last night, so do keep him in your prayers.  It’s easy for him to jump into doing more when it’s feeling better … men can be like that … but I do try to encourage him to take it easy … it’s not been 6 weeks just yet!

    Okay … I have a question for all you TV watchers out there.  We don’t watch much, but this thing with the converter box … well, I’m hoping it won’t be too difficult to figure out!  Ian usually did things like this for us … we’re not too electronically savvy, you know!!  We only have one television that would need one, and we did apply for the coupon.  We should get it within a week.  I did hear that the government ran out of money for them, but the lady at Radio Shack, who was nice enough to apply for the coupon for us right there in the store, said we shouldn’t have trouble getting them before they completely switch from analog to the digital signal.  If anyone knows anything about this, do let me know!  As I said, we don’t watch much tv at all, but we do keep up somewhat with the weather, and FoxNews.

    Also, I wanted to thank those of you who voted over on Iliveinmycamera.  I was so surprised, and blessed, when I logged on to find my entry had won the photo contest this past week!  I hadn’t entered in quite awhile, and it was such a surprise!  Thanks to all that voted – there were many great entries over there … there always is!  If any of you want to enter, you’ll find the directions there!  It’s always fun to see what others send in!

    Well, you all have a terrific Tuesday … I’m hoping to have some photos of ALL the snow we may (or may not) get!  The skies do look white, and ready to burst!  Now, I’m going to go put on a pot of hot, and spicy, chili to keep us warm over the next couple of days!  I think I’ll bake up a batch of sweet pumpkin bread to go with a nice hot cup of tea, as well!   Hubby should be home soon … maybe a game of Scrabble, too!  Warm hugs to all!  <><

    ~ The Sounds of Silence -

    The morning was mute, quiet and still

    as I awoke from a peaceful rest;

    The sounds of silence were a soft calm

    and peace was mine – I was blessed.

    A hushed world was solemn in thought

    at the silence all around;

    Snowflakes fell like pure-white feathers

    and never made a sound.

    A lull like this, in a busy world,

    was Nature’s gift of wonder;

    I stifled thoughts of anything

    that might put it asunder.

    For just awhile on a winter’s morn,

    I turned within, in awe;

    Listening to the sounds of silence

    and the beauty that I saw.

  • Hi Deborah, I’ve missed you. We’re all so busy, aren’t we ~ but then there is this mind of mine which at times is like a sieve. I was thinking ~ what is the name of Deborah’s site? I was wondering how you were doing, and how your husband’s ankle was, etc. Anyway, it finally came to me when I happened to see your name somewhere else. Aha! “Threads of Faith”! And then I received the notice from you from FB. Isn’t fun how God does things like that for us? If I ever am sufficiently caught up, I’ll plan to go over to FB and go over to spend some time looking over your site. I”m so glad you contacted me. Have a good Thursday, stay warm, & keep that husband of yours out of trouble so he doesn’t get hurt any more! :lol: ~ {{{hugs}}} Carolyn :heartbeat:

  • Hi Deborah :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: I got your comment…you did it!!!

  • Congratulations on your win! And I’m glad your husband is healing nicely.

    Life is more of the same, I’m afraid. After much thought, I decided to start writing some password protected posts. Some things are not meant for everyone to read. I would appreciate your prayers and words of wisdom. Email me for the password, if you’d like. Gina

  • I was wondering about the ice storm I saw on TV…you are prob in it….
    Tell that man to stay off his leg :nono: :nono:

    We are all sick here…just colds but I hate them…. :wave:

  • Good catching up with your, sweet lady! It’s a quiet morning here, and I HAVE to get off the computer now! I just wanted to say HOWDY! It sounds like Lewis is healing, be it slowly and with small setbacks due to his….. er… manliness! LOL! On my site I posted a few pictures of what Winter looks like here. I would love some of the white stuff! Gotta run!

  • Yes, you tell Lew to rest that leg. I second that! LOL

    You want snow! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek I don’t want any. Say it might drop a few danders tomorrow but I’m asking God if He’ll let those flakes get caught up in the mountains. I guess I could ask Him to add it to your batch if you like. Let me know! LOL

    Be blessed

  • I noticed that you won!  I liked your picture with the Scrabble pieces…I didn’t get a chance to vote this time sorry but it probably would have been yours.  Enjoy the snow.

  • Oh I wonder if we’ll be “sharing” the same snow!  :heartbeat:  We’re getting a dusting this evening, and tomorrow afternoon /evening will get an actual snowstorm that promises about five inches.  Like you, I am hoping!  The last couple times they’ve called for “storms” we only got dusted…but it was pretty nonetheless.

    Ummm pumpkin bread is my favorite.  I have zuchinni bread going over here…I had a big plastic GLAD container full of shredded zuchinni in the freezer, and wanted to use it up before freezer burn set it.  So I used some of it in the meatless chili recipe I posted, and the rest is now breaded.  LOL  Breaded zuchinni?  Ah, I mean zuchinni bread.  :lol:

    Will keep praying for this challenging ankle of your hubbys….it’s awful hard to “rest” even when we really really have to.  But it is the only way to heal, I know.  So I will pray that not only does the ankle heal, but also that the Lord gives your hubby THE rest he needs and also the wisdom to know when and when not to “not rest”.  (Wow.  My grammar tonight takes on a beauty of its own!)  :coolman:

    Ummm chili!  I can smell it now.  And I love Scrabble!  Missie and I played on Saturday night, and I had the worst hand ever dealt.  Never had so many T’s in all my life.  I had both V’s.  And all at one time, had the J, the X, and a K.  But hey…it builds talent, right?  :rolleyes:

    The Lord bless YOUR Tuesday, too, Deborah!  Enjoy the blessings from the Lord tomorrow and may He put a song in your heart.  God be with your hubby and heal him up.  And may He give you both an extra measure of motivation and energy to tackle what needs done…that seems to be a huge challenge for me, lately!  But God is good.  He pours out strength even when we are at our tiredest!Blessings, friend!  God bless you!  (And enjoy your snow!) :heartbeat:

  • :heartbeat:P.S. Congrats on making first place on Iliveinmycamera!

  • :wave::sunny:Hello Sweet Deborah! :nono:You tell Lew to stay off that ankle and let it REST!!……..I know it is hard to sit still for him, but, it is the only way it will heal quicker!:yes:……….We are suppose to get 4 inches of snow tonight. We’ll see. I like having it around! It helps keep it warmer and not so COLD!…………brrrr!….Hope you enjoy your chilli! I made a pot of homemade chicken noodle soup for this evening myself. When I heard snow yesterday and I have been cold all weekend. I thought, I will put a chicken in the slow cooker before work and when I get home I will make it into Chicken noodle soup!Carrots and sliced celery, yum! It is one of my favorite winter meals:goodjob:…….Hope you have a Marvelous evening and I will look more into a facebook account. If I do manage to get one I will let you know!………(((((Hugs))))))……….In Christ’s Love….Monic:heartbeat::love::heartbeat::wave:

  • Oh I hope he didn’t do anything more to his ankle or knee!  God is so awesome to always provide what we need.  It is so great to know it comes from Him and not by chance.  It is so sweet to trust in Jesus and to be a child of God.  The poem you shared was very nice.  I’ve never heard of that before.  How’s Elisabeth? Ian?  I hope you have an excellent Tuesday too! :coolman:Elisha

quote and verse

Faith expects from God what is beyond all expectation.
- Andrew Murray -

God often comes to us,
not in dramatic and the spectacular,
but in quiet, unexpected ways ...
In a still, small voice,
a gentle whisper,
God makes known His love.

In quietness and trust
is your strength.
Isaiah 30:15

Pleasure, possessions, power, and privilege are ultimately worthless in comparison to the indescribable
joy of knowing GOD!!

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him,
and He shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5,6

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go:
I will guide thee with mine eye.
